Got me looking so crazy right now

Black prom mesh midi dress - Asos
Red faux suede court shoes - Primark (similar)
Giant red envelope clutch bag - Primark (similar)
Cropped swing leopard print faux fur jacket - New Look (similar)

Oh Asos you reel me in yet again with your discount codes and reduced dresses. I used the excuse of needing a new dress for NYE so I could justify treating myself to this beauty. I'm going as Audrey Hepburn and thought the 50's silhouette worked a treat. The underskirt I've found will hopefully make the outfit come together. The dress will also come in handy for the many festive evenings I've got planned so really it would have been a crime to not buy it. Yes I know, I'm the queen of excuses when it comes to shopping.

I can't believe how fast this month is flying by, it really won't be long until the big day. I'm having a lovely month so far with lots of fun activities although my bank account is having a heart attack. I spent this weekend getting my London fix with the dream team blogger babes having our Christmas festivities. Sarah very kindly brought us all homemade rocky road as a little treat. It went down very nicely indeed! We also managed to squeeze in a little trip to Aisling and Elodie's pad to exchange our secret Santa presents. Well and truly in the Christmas spirit now. Especially as I got some candy canes in my present from Sarah - she makes the perfect Santa!

Bigger boys and stolen sweethearts

Outfit:
Black felt fedora - From granddad (similar)
Quilted faux leather jacket - Zara (similar)
Tartan midi jersey dress - Boohoo
Black leather heeled ankle boots - Topshop (similar)

After having a sort through the cupboard looking for my Halloween outfit I came across this hat. It belonged to my granddad and when he passed away when I was 16 I nabbed it from my nans house. I still remember the day he bought it, we were up in Scotland and it started to rain so he walked into a shop in the village to buy something to keep the rain off his head. It's funny how certain memories stick in your head when you glance at something. I'd eyeing up a fedora lately for the winter months so this one has popped up at just the right time. Plus something with sentimental value is always more special isn't it? I saw this dress on Sarah's Wednesday Wants and as soon as payday rolled around last week I popped it in my basket and put my card details in before you could say tartan. WINTER20 helps you get 20% off your order.

I was hunting out a Halloween costume as  I'm off to Northern Ireland - Derry to be exact - on Wednesday to celebrate the holiday in style. We been told by my boyfriends family that it's kinda a big deal and we're in for a treat. It's only a flying visiting as we're visiting for just three days but I'm very much looking forward to it and it'll be nice to all catch up. I'm glad we fly back on a Friday so I have the weekend to recover  if the last trip was anything to go by. My liver is already weeping at the thought...

These streets will make you feel brand new

Outfit:
Quilted faux leather jacket: Zara (similar)
Jersey black midi dress: Asos
Red stacked heeled pointed pumps: Dorothy Perkins
Rose gold boyfriend watch: Next birthday gift (similar)
White statement necklace: c/o New Look (similar)

This is a typical autumn outfit for me. In fact I'm going to snap this asos dress up in all the different colours. They're just so easy to throw on and you can dress them up for work or keep it casual for the weekend. I'm all about multi-tasking when it comes to buying clothes! At £25 I thought it was a bargain for something that is so versitale. I thought i'd add a little pop of colour to help keep the outfit from being too boring looking with these red shoes which seem to be surgically attached to my feet at the minute. I do love a good sale bargain!

When there's no-one left to fight boys like him don't shine so bright

Outfit:
Quilted faux leather jacket - Zara (similar)
Striped cotton midi dress - Asos via Petticoat Lane Market (similar style)
Patent pointed flats - Zara (similar)

This was the other gem I picked up from Petticoat Lane market. It all happened in a blink of an eye and I'm still not quite sure how it came into my hands. I'm very glad it did though! It's the same shape as this dress I have and it fits perfectly. It's my perfect length and sucks me in at the waist giving the impression I'm skinner than what I look. Please do this dress in more colourways Asos!

I wore this out today to meet up with an old friend for some Nandos and a very much overdue catch up. It's amazing where times goes! Then this evening will be spent snuggling in bed watching the rest of the second series of Homeland ready for the upcoming third series. I LOVE YOU BRODY! The DVD of the first series was hands down the best thing I ever brought my boyfriend. Evenings spent admiring Damien Lewis' *ahem* acting talents are my favourite kind of evenings.

Everything is going wrong but we're so happy

Outfit:
Pastel printed dress - Dorothy Perkins via Leather Lane market
Peach 3/4 length sleeved cardigan - Primark
Black chain handle bag - Zara
Nude toe capped pointed flats - Dorothy Perkins

The last weekend has been 100 miles an hour and this week doesn't seem to be slowing down. I think I need a week indoors where I go to bed at 9pm to try and stop looking and feeling like a zombie. I wore this outfit for a day out in Shoreditch on Sunday with one of my friends. We started off at Petticoat Lane Market so she could buy some new clothes for our holiday to Poland in three weeks. She brought nothing and I came away with a pair of patterned trousers and a dress. Clearly I suck at showing self control... After a wander along Brick Lane and having a tasty sandwich in the Vintage Emporium tearoom.  There'll be another post on that later. Mix matched furniture? Right up my street!

We then trekked to the ridiculously busy Oxford Street so we could raid Selfridges Food Hall for some cheesecake and Marc Jacobs diet coke which we ate laying by Marble Arch complaining about how much we need to lose weight. Standard. All in all a lovely day out and proves once again you really don't need to spend a lot of money to enjoy London. You just have to pack your walking shoes.

Did you all have a nice weekend? Have you been to Petticoat Lane Market?

I just can't listen to the words of fools

Outfit:
Orange floral dress - Primark
Cream cardigan - Primark
Nude cut out brogues - Dorothy Perkins

This dress was found as a result of a self-imposed spending ban. I'm trying to save for New York so buying clothes is a no-no and I'm having to root around in the dark and dingy depths of my wardrobes for things to wear. Sometimes I'm disappointed but other times it's a pleasant surprise like when I found this dress. It's quite a few years old now and I remember being disgusted that it was priced at £25. A bit extortionate to be fair but it's made of lovely thick material with netting underneath to help make it poof. This is my summer uniform. It's so easy to chuck on a dress, cardigan and shoes when you pop your snooze button on a bit too many times and have to rush out the door to catch the bus. My lovely wavy hair is courtesy of the Bumble and Bumble surf spray - we've become firm friends. Just look what it does!

What is your summer uniform?

London Fashion Week

Outfit:
Aztec body con midi dress: Primark
Long sleeved cardigan: Primark
Black tights: Primark
Heeled shoe boots: Primark
Bling statement necklace: Primark

Well looks like I was channelling Primark at London Fashion Week this season! I wasn't really planning on popping down but I recieved an invite to head to the New Look refuelling room on the Strand - more on this later - and thought i'd pop to Somerset House with Hannah. I obviously had to have my picture snapped! If you look very closely you be able to see tinges of purple at the ends of my hair supplied by the very generous New Look lounge. I felt like I should have been in an advert with the amazing bounce.

I had an absolute blast at New look and got to spend time with the ever so lovely Sarah and Hannah. I bumped into the gorgeous Elodie at Somerset House which was perfect as we managed to persuade her to come out for my birthday that night. Hannah and I popped along to Bills for a bit of dinner and a cheeky bottle of wine. This set up our evening very nicely indeed. Lily and Elodie joined us at a pub in Covent Garden and the night got very jolly from then on. I had an amazing night dancing to all my favourite indie tunes at the Borderline and finally stumbled into bed at 5am. Perfect birthday night out!

Are you planning a trip to Somerset House?

Lacey Lady

Outfit:
Blue navy lace dress: Primark
Blue coat: H&M
Red slipper shoes: Primark
Navy tights: Primark
Gem statement necklace: Primark

I don't very often wear short dresses but this one reminded me of a zara dress I saw so I thought i'd treat myself. It's verging on slightly being indecent but with thick tights I can get away with it. I do feel much more at home in a midi though! I did try to attempt a mini cheat beehive using a bumpit but you can't really see in this picture. Once day i'm going to attempt a real one - it's just finding the time!

Not much is happening this week - i'm aiming to squeeze in a cinema trip. I've got an unlimited Cineworld card and seem to have turned into a film geek. I can't wait to see Gangster Squad. I'm quite happy to watch a few hours of Ryan Gosling! Homeland will also hopefully feature heavily this week if I have my way! I'm loving the fact that not much has been going on these last few weeks in term of a social life.  Sometimes it's nice to just plod around. December was such a hectic month and my bank account is slightly weeping. So I can't really do anything even if I wanted!

Hope you all have a good week :)

Feeling blue

Outfit:
Blue jersey midi dress: Topshop
Shaggy faux fur jacket: Primark
Statement diamond collar necklace: Primark
Black tights: Primark
Black leather healed boots: Topshop

This isn't the most exciting of outfits but the chances are if you see me in real life, you'll see this gracing my body. This is the outfit I pull out when I  can't be bothered to rummage through my wardrobe and I know it looks presentable. I wear it at least twice a week - who says bloggers don't have any imagination? My boyfriend likes to refer to this jacket as my Silver Back gorilla coat and to be honest I can't argue with that! It's so cosy and I feel it's the perfect jacket for this time of the year.

This weekend had been one of doing absolutely nothing apart from visiting family and eagerly watching Homeland. I brought Connor it for Christmas and I think i'm enjoying it more than him! I'm absolutely obsessed and could easily watch it all day long. Damien Lewis? Sigh... I say no more. LOVE HIM!

I also recently created facebook page for my blog and it would great if you could like it please :)

Hope you've all had a great weekend!

Her lingo went from the cockney to the gringo

Outfit:
Burgandy polka dot midi dress: Asos
Gold coloured statement necklace: Primark
Black leather ankle boots: Topshop
Black opaque tights: Primark
Zebra print umbrella: Primark

I'm fairly fickle but at the minute this is my favourite dress. It's the perfect dress for all occcasions. It's great to wear casual at the weekend - going for pie and mash like I am today! -, brilliant to be smart enough for work and fab for looking like you've made the effort for a friday night down the pub. Not bad for £32! I love Asos dresses for daytime wear as they're usually quite reasonable. After all who wants to spend £50 on a casual dress?!

I'm having a bit of a wardrobe crisis at the minute in regards to work wear. I have plenty to wear on evening out - just a shame I don't seem to go out anymore - and enough things to wear over the two day weekend. I have plenty of clothes but nothing I feel is suitable for work. It's quite a casual office and i've never done well with casual. I don't really feel comfortable wearing jeans to work and don't have that many everyday dresses. I've got all these pencil skirts and nowhere to wear them! Blogger problems eh?

What do you all wear to work?

Holiday Outfits Part Two

The title says it all...

001: Burnt orange chiffon midi dress - Topshop (RIP my mum has ruined it in the wash)
002: Boat patterned white cotton dress - Asos
003: White and navy polka dot midi dress: Topshop
004:Orange polka dot midi dress - Asos
005: White chiffon pleated midi dress - Topshop
006: Tropical floral peplum pencil dress - Asos

The word's on the streets and it's on the news

Outfit:
Topshop navy and white polka dot midi dress - Donated by a very kind friend
Navy 3/4 length cardigan - Primark
Black and cream two tone pumps - Primark
Red plastic watch - Toywatch
Silver charm bracelet - Pandora

The plus side of having a fashionable friend is they unload their pretty clothes onto you. I was green with envy when my friend managed to snag this off eBay for a decent price - the ones i'd seen were going for £40 plus. You can imagine my delight when she offered me it FOR FREE! Of course I was the dutiful friend and told her to sell it on eBay but deep down I was screaming GIVE IT TO ME PLEASE! Luckily she's a bit of a diamond. This has my name written all over - the midi length gets me every time. I'm on the hunt for a red pair of shoes - can't believe I don't own any - and a red bag to make the dress complete.

I know i'm making a major faux paux - in my eyes anyway - by wearing black with navy but I didn't have any shoes to wear! They don't look too bad I suppose!

As you read this I shall just have landed in the hopefully sunny Bulgaria. Hopefully I'll be coming back with a killer tan! Wish you were here!

Stop making the eyes at me, I'll stop making the eyes at you

Outfit:
Orange lace midi dress: Asda
Denim jacket: Primark
Nude ballet pumps: New Look
Oversize faux-pearl necklace: gift from friend

This an example of an outfit that I wear to work. My office is fairly casual - lots wear jeans and converse. But I like to make the effort to dress up a bit more as I have so many clothes it'd be a crime not to wear them! This denim jacket is one of the best investments i've worn in a long time - it's perfect for the 'summer' we seem to be having! I brought this dress in the sale and it's the perfect length for work to wear with bare legs. It's also pretty handy to take on holiday with me as I guess i'll only wear it a handful of times thanks to this brilliant weather.

I've been getting into the Olympic spirit this week having attended the mens road race and womens hockey today. Attending these sorts of events make me realise just how much I love london. The city really has done so well even if London Transport did make me an hour late for the hockey this morning. Suppose a deflective train can't really be helped... I'm off to see the football quarter final on Saturday, I need GB to come second in their group to see them. I'm also going to attend the womens marathon on Sunday so it's a jam-packed week!

Has anyone else been religiously watching the Olympics? Or been to see some action themselves?

But it was not your fault but mine and it was your heart on the line

Outfit:
Hawaiian print cut out dress: Asos
Demin jacket: Primark
Brown straw bag: eBay
Dove blue and pink heart lady dragons: Vivienne Westwood
Chunky pearls: Gift from friend
Red plastic watch: Toywatch

Finally gave my beautiful new shoes an outing - I figured the boyfriends birthday was a pretty special occasion! They are so easy to walk in and my feet don't sweat like I though they would - too much information I know! This is one of my favourite outfits i've worn in a long time. I love this dress, it's my favourite type of length but the cut outs around the waist stop it from looking frumpy. Just a shame I haven't had much wear out of it thanks to the dreaded rain.  This bag is without a doubt one of the best things i've brought on ebay. It was a mere 99p and it's the perfect holiday/summer bag. Anyone else get drawn to straw during the summer months?

Like I said I wore this out to my boyfriend's birthday for a meal with his family. I completely overindulged with three courses and paid with it at weightwatchers. It tasted so good but i'm really going to have to pull my finger out as all my weight seems to be going back on! I rustled up a chocolate cake for him and was rather pleased with my decorating skills. It's not going to win any prizes but I thought I did ok with my first attempt! The boys going to get fat as I made him a ginger cake and his nan made him another chocolate cake. Think he might need some help finishing them off...

Holiday wishlist

As we're looking to book our holiday this week - two weeks all-inclusive in Bulgaria - i'm going full blown ahead with holiday planning. To be fair I have got rather a lot of clothes and can make do with what i've already got but where's the fun in that! This is what i'm planing to save up for with all my eBay money so I guess I better get selling eh?

001. I have been meaning to get a demin jacket for the past two summers. They just seem to easy to throw on over pretty dresses and a lot less harsh than a leather jacket. I think this year might be the year I actually buy one.

002. This Asos dress sun is actually a bit of a cheat as I ordered this a few days ago.  I was debating between this and the white one but then decided beens I usually miss my mouth when I eat, white would be useless. I'm hoping this comes before Sunday so I can wear it out for my boyfriend's birthday meal.

003. I've decided I need one more bikini and then i'm romeo done. I chucked a fair few of mine away after last year so am running a little low. I'm the person that takes eight bikinis for a seven day holiday - don't judge! I adore the print and the retro style of this bikini.

004. I spotted this dress in Look magazine and have been keeping my beady eye out for it ever since. It just looks like it has my name written all over it. I do think it's a tad overpriced for H&M at £34.99 as it's only a cotton dress. But look at the pretty neckline?

005. TOMS are another thing i've been meaning to buy myself for the past two summers but for some reason I just never have gotten around to it. I think I got distracted by pretty dresses... These ones are a little bit more exciting than the plain ones and navy seems to be a colour that goes with most things.

I got so many clothes I keep them in my aunts house

Outfit:
Purple Leopard Print satin dress: Primark
Black 3/4 length cardigan: Primark
Sheer tights: Primark
Black round toed shoes: Topshop
Black beaded bracelet: Thomas Sabo
Red plastic watch: Toywatch

I actually really liked this outfit today. You know when you love what your wearing and it gives you a bit of a spring in your step? Yep I felt like that although the fact that I was listening to Rude Boy by Rihanna as I walked down the platform may have added to the strut! Shockingly I brought this dress a staggering 3 years ago before I started Uni during an insane Primark spree. I only took the tags off today. Yes I hold my head in shame! I have only just had an occasion to wear it! It is perfect for work! I ended up whipping the tights off half way through the day due the sauna like temperatures in London today. I was totally expecting rain when I got dressed this morning.

Not much has really happened so far this week. I have been working which I am still enjoying a lot. I am learning so much about online journalism, never knew it was so so different to print. It is all so interesting! I went for champagne (!!!) after work last Friday and it was lovely to speak to some people that I am working with. You don't chat that much in the office when you sit so far apart. They offered some really valuable tips about the industry!

I am off to Ascot on Saturday, not had the money to buy a new outfit so I am recycling the one that I wore two years ago. I am going with different people so no one will be none the wiser! It is such a beautiful dress, I featured it here, so I don't mind wearing it again. It is the coral and cream one from Monsoon.

I hope everyone has been ok. Sorry for neglecting the old blog, I am starting to manage my time a lot better so hopefully things will get back on track very shortly!
