Happy Aussie-versary

I was very lucky to attend the Aussie-versary VIP party last night where I had the pleasure of meeting so many lovely people such as Lisa, Dani, Steph, Charlotte, Sinead, Abby and Steph. If I missed anyone out I am sorry, I met so many people that night! They were all so friendly and really made me feel welcome. Especially as my dad was convinced that I was meeting up with serial killer, don't ask, so I was a bit nervous to say the least! I felt like I was at a school disco waiting for the hottest boy in school to ask me to dance but after the champagne I was chatting to everyone!

How amazing is that Aussie hamper? We got to help ourselves to some products to take home. Needless to say I was very excited and as an Aussie virgin I cannot wait to try them all out. I think I might treat myself to the deep conditioner later this week.

I felt very special as I look full advantage of having my hair beautifully curled, as someone who has heavy hair my curls are not always my friend. They always drop out and I have to put so much hairspray on. But I have no idea how the stylist did it but these curls were so soft and stayed in until this morning. I also wore foundation for the first time as I got my make up done, not sure I was a fan! I wimped out getting my shamefully bitten nails done, too embarrassed!

I think I enjoyed the half naked men serving me canapés a bit more than I should have, although it was a bit disturbing when one of them started serving sausages...

The venue was amazing and tucked away on Shaftesbury Avenue where we had full use of the rooftop, felt very exclusive! We all found it surprisingly well after a little help from an iphone!
I haven't been to many posh venues; I tend to stick to the dark and dingy ones.

I would like to say a massive thank you to Lisa for allowing me to gatecrash and to Steph who allowed me to use her pictures. Fingers crossed I will get invited to some more events in the future, they are so much fun!

Just a skater girl

Outfit:
Cream skater dress: H&M
Black chain belt: Primark
Black opaque tights: Primark
Black studded smoking slippers: Topshop

Gosh this camera is awful, bring on getting a new one. I feel like I have lost a limb without my normal camera!

This dress was a bargain at £15, even better that I had a voucher to use so it was in reality free! Orginally brought it for work but alas it's too short and I am sure people in the office do not want to see my behind so it has be resigned for meals out. Shame you can't really see my shoes but I brought those studded loafers from Topshop that everyone seems to be blogging about. Know what ones I mean? They are so comfy and literally feel like slippers. Best £28 I have spent in a long time!

Off out tonight for my best friends birthday to eat lots of noodles. I am gatecrashing her family meal! Not seen her since before the summer so I am very excited to see her beautiful face. Just a shame she's not down for longer. Ahhh well hopefully I can kidnap her when she comes home for Christmas. Kinda selfish of her to live so far away to be honest!

Massive hello to my new readers, you seem to have appeared from nowhere! I am very grateful that you read the old blog.

A snapshot #2

001. My Glossybox came though the post this week. I was really pleased with all the products especially the nail varnish. It applies like a dream! I completely understand why some people were disappointed as it was a bit of a con to get four products all by the same brand

002. After finishing my contract last Friday I have found myself at a loose end. I have spent most of this week lazing around in bed watching True Blood. Nearly finished the first series, just need to get my hands on the second.

003. I decided to have a little raid of the charity shops and came away pleasantly surprised. I found another wine coloured Kelly bag in pristine condition to add to my collection. Managed to get my hands on Never Been Kissed, amazing film. I used to watch it all the time when I was at school. I finally finished off the Stieg Larsson trilogy so am starting the first one this week. The uno cards will come in handy perfectly to take on holiday to pass some time round the pool.

004. New shoes! I jumped on the glitter shoe bandwagon with these beauties. Not the most sensible thing to do as I don't have a job but look how pretty they are! They will be perfect for the festive season. Who needs Miu Miu?

005. Nom nom nom! Me and the boy trotted off to Westfield for the day extremely hungover. Shopping is not fun when your head feels like it is about to explode. However this jerk chicken managed to soften the blow. It was amazing!

What has your week been like?

Graduation

Last Wednesday was a very proud day. I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a 2.1. There were some points during the degree that I doubted I would ever come away with anything. I am not one of these people that can cram a few days before or start my coursework a week before due date *cough* my boyfriend who gets 83% in one piece of coursework *cough*. I am not naturally intelligent and have to work so hard in order to get decent grades. That is what makes this degree all the sweeter.

I really did have such a lovely day with my parents and boyfriend. We all trekked to Cambridge to the Corn Exchange, getting up at half 5 was not pleasant. My soppy mum started crying when she saw me in the gown, bless her cottons socks. I think it hit us all just how far we had come, I am the only one that went to University in my family. The degree really was a joint effort; everyone mucked in and put up with me when I turned into a monster before deadlines.

I managed to totter across the stage in my chunky heels without falling over. I had been having nightmares that I would fall flat on my face; I think that walk was the longest of my life! The day ended with amazing three course lunch in Jamies Italian, seriously we need one near me. It was delicious. It was so nice to see everyone again and learn all about what they were doing. Even if it was a bit disheartening to hear that some of them had jobs and I didn't. Ah well my time will come soon!

It went so quickly and before I knew it I was back at home at 4pm trying to cram in a few hours kip before the pub quiz. I wish I could do it all over again.

Somehow I seem to have hit 202 readers! Wow! Thank you all so much and please don't be shy, come and say hello on twitter.

Welcome to the real world

Rust midi dress: Topshop
Rust faux suede chunky heels: Dorothy Perkins
Orange clutch bag: Dorothy Perkins

I finally graduated on Wednesday! Officially an adult even if I don't feel like it! My mum got over excited when taking pictures and managed to drop my camera and break it hence the terrible iPhone quality picture. A Warner family day out is never drama free! The boyfriend is going to hunt down a card reader so hopefully I can have some graduation pictures to show off to you soon!

I originally brought a very expensive navy assemble from Monsoon back in January unfortunately I have been rather food happy recently and it ripped when my large behind got near it. It was a tragic moment. Thankfully it is now fixed at the dry cleaners and it is now my aim to fit in to it for New Years Year. I had to panic buy this outfit a week before and I must say I am rather in love with it. I just feel like it is so "me". It is being earmarked for my boyfriends work Christmas party. Just to clarify those are not rolls in the dress rather creases. Honest I promise!

I had such a lovely day but will go into more details once I get the pictures off my camera.

I have also just signed up to Bloglovin as Claire kindly let me know I had 11 followers on there. I would be ever so grateful you take a little time out and follow me :) Thanks guys!

Middle ground

Topshop floral midi dress - £50

Parrot palm midi dress - £70

Wallpaper ombre midi shirt dress - £80

My love affair with midi dresses is still going full steam ahead. I felt strangely exposed when I wore my leather shorts out at the weekend. I felt like my bum should have been a bit more covered. Could it be at the age of 22 that I now need to cover up a bit more? Am I getting old?

001. I actually have this dress just in a different colour. Rust, if anyone is wondering. It will be my graduation dress on Wednesday. I love this and feel the urge to make it mine, it is such a lovely fit and who doesn't love some florals.

002. It was the unusual neckline that drew me to this dress. Followed by the lovely print. I think this would work really well with thick tights and heeled ankle boots. I wonder if it is as nice in real life?

003. This dress excites me and disgusts me at the same time. It is really quite ugly with all the clashing colours but yet so pretty at the same time. I love the pussy bow; they are always winners in my eyes. The price is not so much of a winner.

Now I wanna see y'all on y'all baddest behaviour

Outfit:
Black leather shorts: Topshop
Cream 3/4 length flower trimed top: Primark
Black polka dot tights: Primark
Black faux suede wedges: New Look
Nail varnish: No7 Rose Truffle 76

I was pleasantly surprised that these shorts still fit me as i've put on some weight recently. So to celebrate that I thought I would wear them out tonight on a night out on the town. I brought this top a few weeks ago (in the hell hole that is Marble Arch Primark) with the intention of wearing it to work but now I have thought about it I think it is too pretty to just wear to work. I think I am going to wear it out a few times and then resign it to work. I love patterned tights, I think they really jazz up an outfit. But no doubt these will be laddered by the end of the end and have ended up in the bin. Anyone else always ladder tights?

Like I said I am going out dancing tonight. I am only going out locally so will be the oldest person out amongst 16-year-olds. Tragic. Ah well I can still party like the rest of them! The best friend is coming round to have pre-drinks, good gossip and watch The X Factor. We haven't been out dancing in about a month so tonight is very much needed.

Hope you all have a lovely Saturday night! Anyone else looking forward to The X Factor?

You are my destiny, Jai Ho

Gold satin embroidered top: Charity Shop
Gold satin maxi skirt: Charity Shop
Nude bow sandals: River Island
Gold coloured bangles: Topshop and Primark

An outfit post with a bit of a twist today!

I spent the weekend in the Wembley Hilton attending a Jazzacise weekend. Major fail on that part as I only did 2.5 classes out of about 12! But I did have such an amazing time and spent it with two of my favourite people. I don't think I have danced or laughed that much in a very long time. I would post some pictures but I don't think they are suitable for this blog!

On the Saturday night it was Bollywood night which meant we had to get an outfit. I had borrowed one from my mum's friend but was so scared to wear it as she told my mum she wore it to weddings. I am an extremely clumsy person and could imagine me falling over and ripping a big hole in the sari!

As we wandered in search of the local Primark, we spotted that the window display of Oxfam was full of saris. I have never seen so many beaded or brightly coloured pieces of clothing in my life. They were all so pretty. As we ummed and ahhed over them, a lovely lady came to our aid. She had a rummage through the back, taught us how to tie saris and re-threaded some trousers for my friend.

I wish I could dress like this every day, it made me feel like a princess. The amount of detailing in the top is immense and must have taken such a long time. Can you believe that this was only £10?! Amazing! I brought a sari too because it was pretty and only £6. You never know, it might come in handy!

A/W haul

001: Primark - £10
002: H&M - £24.99
003: H&M - £7.99
004: River Island - £34.99
005: Next - £12

I had a little spending spree over this last week, brought some new work clothes although I finish in London on 14th October. Logic much?

Ah well they will do for my next internship/job! Only one thing was brought from Primark, shocker! Must be a sign I am on full time money and no longer a student.

I adore the Primark blouse; they have come up trumps yet again. I love the cute Peter Pan collar. I did originally buy it in cream but it was too small. When I went to change it they only had this colour in my size. I think I prefer it to be honest.

I completely fell victim to visual merchandising with these two bits from H&M as they were both styled together in the window. This skirt is made from such lovely material and is so thick, perfect for the upcoming winter. I can see myself wearing this outfit to death.

Finally found some black trousers that actually fitted me after searching for about 10 years. Surprisingly they are from River Island which was one of the last places I thought would fit me. They are so comfortable and I have come to conclusion, as much as I love skinny trousers, this shape really does suit my figure the best. Still feel a tad self confident in them but I suppose you just gotta fake it eh?

Finally the only next sale purchase that I brought. As I didn't work sale preview I missed out on the chance to have a mooch around and put some things on hold. I could not be bothered to get up early when I was working the late shift so this was all I found as I wandered in about midday. Pretty pleased with it, love the little neck tie. I already have this in white with black trims as I brought it on uniform.

I think my A/W wardrobe is getting there!

Review - Space Girl Lush bath bomb

I am a massive fan of Lush, I love the fact that you can smell it from miles away and can spends ages picking each individual product up and smelling it. Unfortunately I hardly ever buy products as my nearest one is about half an hour away but I recently stocked up on a few bath bombs that should keep me going for a while!

I decided to give Space Girl a whirl as I had never tried it before. It looks so pretty! On the website it states that it is named after a song by the band The Imagined Village. Featuring the ingredients of grapefruit oil, bergamot oil and almond oil I was certain that it would be a keeper.

As I dropped it in, it didn't make that much of an impact with the fizzy-ness. Usually Lush bath bombs literally exploded but this one kind of faded into the background. I am not sure if this was because I had already had a good few weeks before I used it. But from previous experiences this doesn't usually affect it.

The smell however hit me as soon as it plopped into the water. It reminded me of the sweet Palma violets. Remember them? They are my favourite sweets so naturally I loved the smell. However this faded quite quickly, it didn't linger like some bath bombs do.

My favourite bath bombs change the colour of the water dramatically; some even stain the bath much to my dad's disgust. However this one disappointed me. As you can see from the third picture after it had dissolved, it didn't really leave that much of an impression. The purple just wasn't bright enough for me. Not enough glitter appeared in the water either for me but again I am not sure if this was because it had been sitting in my bathroom for too long before it was used.

I think I am going to buy this one again and try to use it straight away to see if it makes more of an impact.

The worst things in life come free to us

Outfit:
Two tone orange and cranberry dress with matching belt: Primark
Nude wooden sandals: Next
Gold bangles: Topshop and Primark
Red plastic watch: Toywatch

Ahhh the tan. How I wish it wasn't fading. I don't look this golden anymore :( It feels like I have never been away.

A fairly simple outfit as there is nothing worse than being all hot and flustered on holiday! I love this dress, another Primarni special, but I don't think it fits right. The lining is a but funny underneath, makes my hips look a lot bigger than they actually are. The top is quite baggy when I think it should be a bit fitted. Ah well I suppose you get what you pay for and it was only £15. I am still going to keep wearing it I think as I really love the style and colours.

Things are back to normal this week. The daily grind of the commute, jazzacise, a few meals out and the Next Sale to contend with at the weekend. On one hand I love the sale as I get lots of overtime which means lots of money. On the other hand I have to give my weekend up and miss out on things. Swings and roundabouts.

I also subscribed to the GlossyBox. I have been umming and ahhing for a few months, my contract at Magicalia ends in October so I will be back working part time at Next and be earning a lot less. But I have been avidly reading blogs and been green with envy so I decided to just take the plunge. I can always unsubscribe in October right? So excited to recieve my first one!

How's your week been?

Don't underestimate the things that I will do

Outfit:

Floral dress with matching belt: Primark
Bow nude wooden sandals: Next
Vintage straw bag: eBay
Gold coloured bangles: Topshop and Primark
Red plastic watch: Toywatch

Ouch my legs look a bit red in these pictures! I only thought I got sunburnt on my back!

This straw bag is one of the best things I brought on eBay. I only paid £1.04 for it, think it came to about £3 with postage. It went with absolutely everything and is the perfect holiday bag. Just the right size to lug all my junk around! Unfortunately my poor shoes had broken before I had even got on the plane. I had to carry them in my hand luggage as they were too heavy for my suitcase. On the way to the airport I noticed the bow was flapping about! I tried to super glue it once I found the nearest supermarket next to our hotel but it didn't work. I took them back when I got home and exchanged them for another pair. Hopefully these ones won't break, they are a perfect holiday shoe!

I went shopping over the weekend and hit up H&M. They really have stepped it up a gear this season and I could have brought the whole shop. I brought a beautiful orange midi skirt for work. It is made of such lovely material and was only £24.99. Got an outfit planned for that later on during the week :)

Lots of people commented on my orange dress in the previous post. It was a River Island special and I blogged about it here. :)

Did anyone do anything exciting over the weekend?

Hola Amigos

A few snapshots of my week in Majorca, I figured you wouldn't interested in 117 photos so I have just selected a few!

Despite the grimace in the third picture I can assure you that my boyfriend does really like spending time with me. I think. He just does not like to smile in photos!

I had such a lovely week away in the hot sunshine although my tan seemed to have faded as soon as I got on the plane to come home. We just spent the week being lazy at the beach and pool and to be honest it was bliss. It was so nice not to have to do anything, life is always so hectic during the week now I am working full time. Highlights included a lot of cocktails, bingo, crazy golf, lots of food and the beautiful beach.

I have a few posts lined up, looking forward to getting back into blogging and catching up on my favourites.

Hope you have all been ok!
