Shoes are a girl's best friend

Its top five time again! First off I would like to apologise for the lack of blogging recently. My dissertation is kicking my butt! I am getting extremely stressed about the whole thing and its taking up too much of my time then I want it too. Oh well needs must I suppose!

These are my top five pairs of shoes!

I have many shoes but only tend to wear a few pairs. Shocking really but I only realised how many I had when I starting sorting through them for this post! Must make more of a consicious effort not to keep going for my trusty black wedges.

1. Leopard print pony haired court shoes - Accessorize
I lusted over these for months but at £45 they were just too expensive for me to take the plunge. But they went in the sale and I snapped them up at £22.50. They do tend to hurt a bit hence why I have only worn them once. They just are not high enough for me to wear on a night out, my motto is the higher the better. But once i'm in full time work I can see myself breaking these beauties in and getting a lot of use out of them.

2. Nude platform faux suede shoes - Primark
What a bargain these were at £12! No one ever believes they are Primark! They go with everything and have the plus of making my legs look longer. Always a plus!

3. Black faux suede wedges - New Look
I seriously wear these to death. In fact they are starting to look a bit battered. May have to chuck these out soon! Again they go with everything and are so comfortable to wear. Perfect for a night out, I dont have to take my shoes off after an hour of dancing

4. Blue and white zebra print court shoes - TopshopThey are years old, I think I may have brought them when I got my first job at 15. They were a sale buy at just £15. So cheap for Topshop especially when the shoes are regularly £70+. Again I don't wear them much anymore due to the heel being not so high. But they will make the perfect work shoes.

5. Pearl, gold and ribbon ankle black flats - Topshop
I adore these, lusted over them for ages and then my work kindly brought me a voucher for my 21st so I made sure they were the first thing I brought! I never wear them though, my mum dislikes them and whenever I put them on tells me they never go. I give into peer pressure and take them off! They tend to make my legs look a bit sausage like too. But they are so beautiful! Shame the toes got a bit scuffed when I fell over haha! Its not as bad as it looks in the photo!

I have not forgotten about my giveaway, hopefully announce the winner over the weekend!

Baggy trousers

Outfit:
White vest top: H&M
Dusty pink lace blazer: Next
Grey smart chinos: Next
Grey ballet pumps: Primark
Blue cameo necklace: Charity shop
Red watch: Toywatch

Sorry for the squinty eyes, its quite sunny here in Essex. Whats it like where you are?

I am in trousers. I never wear trousers. They just do not agree with my child bearing hips, I sure I will be grateful of them in 10 years when I actually have children but right now I hate tmy hips with a passion. I have been lusting over chinos from afar but just felt too self conscious to buy and and they fact most of them just did not fit. I found these in Next and had been umming and ahhhing for ages. They are soft cotton so are not as clingy as ordinary chinos. Plus they look smarter and will be perfect for when I finally get a full time job. I might invest in the black version too. It does feel a little weird not being in a dress, I feel more exposed in trousers! I have had this lace blazer for ages, brought it as uniform a few seasons ago and its still going strong. I love the colour and its so easy just to throw on.

I still don't feel that confident in this get up but I am going to visit family today and I feel more comfortable around them.

As I said I am off to visit family today. My cousin has recently brought a house about half an hour away and is having people over as a little house warming. It is starting at 2pm so I will possibly be drunk by 4 especially as he said he has wine! Not good! I always like doing family things, its not often that everyone gets the chance to get together due to people living all over.

Also I have been reading a few blogs recently and people have been taking part in "swaps" with bloggers in different countries. They swap anything really that is only available in their country. I was wondering if anyone wanted to do this with me? My email address is in the contact me tab at the top, just let me know! Its always nice to recieve things in the post that are not bills!

What have you all go planned for the weekend?

You've got to take me out at least once a week

Outfit:
Black and white floral dress: Next
Red long sleeved cardigan: Primark
Black loafers: Primark
Black tights: Marks and Sparks
Black leather stachel: Charity shop
Oversize faux pearl necklace: Primark

Excuse the red eye in the second photo, my mum refused to take any more pictures because she has to watch heartbeat in the telly. Never mind that the episode is 10 years old and she has seen it a million times before!

I spent the last of my uniform allowance at work today and this is one of the two dresses that I brought. Only £28 normally, what a bargain! I'm wearing it out before I wear it to work, always nice to go out for the evening with something new on! I thought i'd jazz it up a bit with a red cardigan, stop it from looking too dull. I'm using my trusty vintage stachel again tonight, honestly the best £6 I have ever spent I use it all the time!

Off out to Pizza Expresss tonight for dinner. My boyfriend is very kindly treating me as he won £30 on the Grand National. I think I have a keeper there! Although I have made sure I have printed off the 2 courses for £10 discount off vouchercodes, nothing I like more than a bargain! It will be such a nice break from all my Uni work I seem to be doing lately athough I am feeling a little guilty about not doing any tonight. Handed in my first draft of my dissertation today so hopefully I won't have too much to change come Wednesday and my tutor will tell me i'm on the right track!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening :)

Summer loving

I have been browsing the internet when I should be in fact doing some dissertation work. First draft in on Thursday eeeeek! But I have completed my other two modules, page numbered and contents paged, so they are ready to be handed in. Also done about 250 words of my dissertation so all in all a pretty successful geeky night!

I do have a point after all that mindless rambling, I stumbled across the new Primark summer collection and spotted this dress.

Oh my I NEED it now. I will find it and it will be mine.

It will be perfect for my holiday (which I have yet to book or even save for but lets forget about that!). I l0ve the beautiful colours and look at the neckline! Its a beaut! The length is perfect, no flashing anyone once I have had a few. Always a plus in my book! Oh and what is the price I hear you say. £17! Who says you can't look good on a budget.

Oh Primark you have certainly upped your game!

I get drunk and sentimental

Wow this is 100th post, cannot believe that I have rambled on so much haha! Even more shocked that people like to read it. I would like to thank you all so much for reading my little blog. Also a massive hello to my new followers :)

As I have already blogged about this outfit here, I just changed the lipstick and earrings for last night, I decided to do a post about my night out and show you all my drunken antics! I am a little disappointed that my beehive dropped halfway through the night, must use more hairspray next time! It seemed that everybody was out last night, seriously so many people I knew! Although my friend and I have come to conclusion that we would must rather hire a travel lodge and go out of our town for a night out. Will cost us the same, the town gets a bit repetative at times.

I planned the night out my best friend but then one of my close friends came home from Plymouth to celebrate after getting a job as a teacher for a local school. I am so proud of her, she has worked bloody hard for it. Well done Jay! She is the first one to actually use her degree in what it was designed for haha! I then got invited out for someones birthday at work and it was my boyfriends friends birthday! Talk about everything happening at once!
One of my best friends and I. Honestly I love this girl so much, so many of my favourite memories have been spent with her. She knows me inside out and is not afraid to tell me when i'm being a complete idiot, which is fairly often to be honest haha! I have to thank her for being a bad influence and introducing me to alcohol at the age of 14, its been a downward spiral ever since haha! I cannot wait until our Brighton trip in May.
My beautiful old sixth form friends!
Ugh shots that taste like fizzy drinks ha! This may be why I got so drunk because they did not taste like alcohol and I took advantage of that fact! Raving it up of course! Now for some silly ones. Dont judge me, I am not like this every weekend haha!I obviously think I have a sexy trout pout while under the influence. Quite clearly I do not. Must stop this immediately Sophie. Drunkenly confessing my love to my homegirl. Standard on a night out. This makes me laugh, looking at the smirk on my boyfriends face and the disgust on Ems I should think he has done something he shouldn't have! I don't think she enjoyed it too much!
Finally a photo of me holding onto my boyfriend for dear life. Not quite sure if thats a smile or a grimace haha! I am not too sure about the size of my chin in this, i'm feeling a little Mr Incredible.

All in all a good night out with lots and lots of dancing involved. My feet are killing me. I am dreading work today ugh I so cannot handle hangovers anymore. I am DYING!

Hope you all had a lovely Saturday night, get up to anything exciting?

Polka dots fill my eyes

Outfit:
Mustard and black polka dot dress: Dorothy Perkins
Black 3/4 length sleeved cardigan: Primark
Black tights: Primark
Black patent kitten heels: Primark
Black friendship bracelet: Links of London
Black ball earrings: Primark
Red nail varnish: OPI Thanks so muchness

I brought the dress in the sale ages ago, only cost me £17 and I got student discount on top of that! I had been saving it for an interview hence why I wore it today. Its a lovely dress although it catches the wind quite easily and I am sure many communters did not enjoy seeing my knickers haha!

Im a bit unsure about my interview went. They were all lovely but I got the feeling they were a bit put off about my writing experience. I have done so much work experience on newspapers and feature desks at magazines. But I worked on the lifestyle desk on one magazine and loved it. Although I do enjoy writing I think I want to get into the fashion styling side of the industry. Writing this blog has made me realise just how much I love clothes and that I want a career in fashion. Hopefully they will give me a chance fingers crossed! They said they would email me sometime next week.

I was lucky enough to win a giveaway from Sarah. I was very naughty and scoffed the sweets before I had a chance to photograph them! I get a bit excited when haribo is in the picture haha! Isn't the necklace lovely? I am so pleased and can't wait to wear it! Thanks so much Sarah, the sweets were such a nice surprise!
Sticking with the theme of a giveaway mine closes tonight! I will try and announce the winner before the day is out! Good luck everyone!

Hope everybody's week is going well?

Camden Town

This is a bit of a picture heavy post and just to let you know I am no David Bailey! I think I need to brush up on my photography skills! Me and my boyfriend decided to have a little day out yesterday in Camden. The main purpose was to have a little mooch around the markets, never been considering I have been there countless times for a night out, and of course have a lazy day in a few pubs. I had such a lovely time and was so lucky we got such nice weather. We got up there stupidly early at about 9am so of course nothing was open so we found a little cafe for some breakfast. Still its always better to get to places early and make a day of it. The only market I was bothered about was The Stables due to it being full of vintage. My mum used to buy her clothes and shoes from there when she was my age. I fell in love, just a shame I was completely skint! It was full of such beautiful things, reminded me of a huge junk shop. I was too scared to take some pictures so you are just going to take my word for it! I saw a beautiful stall full of old vintage suitcases and another with bags and shoes. It was quite expensive but it was quality things. It looked like it had all been dry cleaned and repaired so I wouldn't mind paying a bit more to be honest. Im going to save up some dollar and visit with my mum in a few months. The boyfriend did not appreciate it, he thinks vintage is disgusting and smelly. More of a Fred Perry and Lyle and Scott type of guy! All around the Stables were these bronze horses, I really wanted to get on one for a picture by my boyfriend told me it was inappropriate. He has always been the more sensible one.
Never one to past up a tourist photo opportunity, I had my picture taken here! This car was opposite so naturally I had to take a picture of it. Not quite sure what it was there for. After we had exhasted the markets there was only one thing left to do! The pubs! We started off in the Oxford Arms, Quinns to watch the footie (boyfriend is a Man Utd fan), The Blues Kitchen (where this picture was taken), The Dublin Castle and finally 55 where it was happy hour on cocktails. This proved to be fatal.

I am aware that the pints make me look like a geezer bird! Cider is the only drink I can handle to not get drunk if that makes sense. Wine goes straight to my head after one glass whereas cider takes a little longer. As we started drinking at half 11, it was essential that I lasted the day!Nom nom nom! Massive doughnuts! 3 for a £1, bargain! I was so pleased with them, carried them around everywhere with me then left them on the train! Only got to eat one. Excused the excited face I was a little merry here and obviously the little things make me happy!
The lethal 2 for 1 cocktails. The red one is a strawberry Collins and the green one is a Kiwi Mojito. My massive doughnuts, the brown one was amazing! It had toffee icing with a chocolate filling.

My outfit:

Coral dress: River Island via ebay

Leopard print collar black coat: Topshop

Black thick tights: Primark

Black loafers: Primark

Black statchal: Charity shop

Red watch: Toywatch

Brooch on coat: Primark

Long floral cameo necklace: Primark

I would like to wish a very Happy Mothers Day to my beautiful mother! I love her very much!

Dresses galore

I was going to do a outfit post today but too be honest I feel rubbish. My coursework is getting on top of me like a ton of bricks and I feel so run down. I came home today and napped for two hours. Going to try and tackle some more work this evening. Ahhh well just have to battle through eh? I only have to last till May 12th then I am free of uni forever!

I came up with an idea of featuring the top five items in my wardrobe. Sound like a good idea? If not one is interested about what I own then just let me know and I won't do it again!

First up are my top five dresses. This was so hard to choose I have an obsense amount of dresses. They are my wardrobe, chest of drawers, airing cupboard and in the loft! Safe to say I own an awful lot!

1. Monsoon
This is my favourite dress. It is so beautiful in real life. I love the back with the little bows. The skirt is such a vibrant colour. At the time it was the most expensive thing I owned, I stayed in for a month so I could have it! I wore it to Ladies day at Ascot a few years ago and have not had a chance to wear it since. It's too special to just wear anywhere! I am going to Ascot again with a different set of people so I am going to bring it out then. I need some of my friends to get married!
2. Monsoon

I think Monsoon is fast becoming my favourite shop for dresses. Just a shame so many of them are out of my price range! I am yet to wear this as I brought it for my graduation in October. I know it is ages away but I just knew this was the dress! I feel so elegant in it and love the delicate beading round the neckline. I also brought a matching coat and feel a bit like Audrey Hepburn! It will be my dress for Ascot next year haha forward planning.

3. Topshop

This was yet another dress than I paid a lot of money for and didn't go out for a month. Fast becoming the story of my life eh? I can't resist pretty things! I blame my nan she practically pushed me to the till to buy it! Unfortunately somebody spilled red wine down it at my boyfriend's Christmas party and I nearly cried on the spot. My nan did manage to get it out but I still don't know whether to wear it again as I can see a slight mark but I think that's because I know it's there, no one else notices. Another thing is that it creases in second hence why it looks like a crumpled old rag!

4. Primark
I adore this dress, its nothing special but it is my to go outfit for everything. Whenever I don't feel very well or hungover I go to this! It instantly perks me up and is so comfortable to wear! The best £15 I have ever spent!

5.Primark
This is my most recent purchase and I wore it in my last outfit post. I love everything about it. I got so many compliments on it at the family party which is always nice! It is such a lovely length, I don't have to worry about constantly pulling it down and it does not look Primark at all!Primark has come up trumps yet again!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you havn't already!

We're not enemies; we just disagree

Outfit:
Cream lace dress: Primark

Leopard print faux fur coat: Next

Black tights: Primark

Vintage black Kelly bag: Car boot

Black faux suede wedges: New Look

Statement pearl ring: Topshop

Glitter red nail varnish: Barry M

Excuse my super dry hands, no hand cream seems to work! They always look red raw! I wanted to get a close up of my ring!

I am off to a family party in Norfolk tonight, always like a good knees up! They are all nutters! My poor dad though has to do a 5 hour round trip tonight as we cant stay over. Would not want to be in his shoes!

I love love love this coat! I cannot believe this is the first time I have worn. I got it for my birthday back in January. It was only £25 in the next sale! Working there does have its perks! I managed to score the Kelly bag at a car boot last Sunday, Oh how I love the season has started again! I am gutted I missed out on two jumbles today because I have to work :( The dress is one of my new favourites too, brought it a few weeks ago. I dont think it looks Primark at all! I am so happy I can use heated rollers again! I had all my hair cut off last summer. It went from waist length to just above my shoulders. Whenever I tried to curl it, it just looked awful. Thankfully it has grown!

I feel like I am the walking dead. So so tired. The sale always kills me! I did a 1-9 on Friday, a 7-1.30 today and I did a 1-7 tomorrow. I also have work tomorrow. Ugh I am thinking of all the money though! I really do need to start saving for a holiday!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you may do!

I have recently got a formspring, so if anyone has any questions hit me up!

Friday = Payday

Today was payday and I decided to treat myself to a few things. I did quite a few hours of overtime last month so could afford to have a mini splurge. I spent a small fortune in boots, I really dont know how. I didn't even get that much! I finally invested in a pink lipstick by Barry M. I am still not sure it suits me but I am going to try it on with an outfit rather than PJs! I brought myself a pretty glittery nail varnish, also Barry M. It was two for £5 so I got one for my giveaway once I reach 100 followers. Not long now! The rest were just essentials that I had run out of!

I made a quick detour to Primark and again spent a small fortune. It was an accident honest! I had been eyeing this satchal up for ages and decided just to take the plunge, I think it will be great for the summer. Such a lovely colour! I stocked up on some tights that I had laddered, looking forward to makeing some outfits with these. Finally I saw two pretty rings that I needed to add to my collection!

I brought some spotted palazzo trousers. Onl £14, such a bargain! I cannot remeber the last time I have ever brought trousers. I managed to fit in these and think they draw much unwanted attention to my hips. But I have decided to listen to my parents who say they look nice so I am keeping them. I think im going to pair them with a nice white vest top and white wedges. My mum reckons I should wear flats but im not too sure.
I am umming and ahhhing about this dress. I only had time to go into one charity shop this morning and brought this dress and the skirt below. Its got a little hole in the elasticated waistband but this can be easily sewn up. It has a huge spilt up the back and my bum can be seen. Not a pretty sight. I dont know wether to sew it up, anyone know if this lasts or will I have to keep doing it? Or if I should put it on ebay? I do really like the dress and it would be perfect if it did not have the spilt. My fault for not checking it over properly!
Finally my lovely skirt! Its so summery and I can see myself come June in white esperdrilles and a white vest top sunning myself in the park! It is quite high waisted which isn't too much of a problem. Just means I won't be able to have a huge dinner!I am shattered, just come in from a 1-9 shift and have to be back in again for 7am. The joy. I think I am going to sleep like a baby tonight.

Hope everyone is well!

I swear it one day we'll gonna leave this town

Outfit:
Beach print dress: Primark
Crochet cream long cardigan: Topshop
Grey tights: Mums drawer
Grey pumps: Primark
Cream statement ring: Primark

I am not in my bedroom taking pictures! As it was such a lovely day, I walked to Uni with no coat on, I begged the mother to take pictures of me in the garden. I love just wearing a cardigan!

This was the one dress in the Primark S/S 11 lookbook that I just had to have. I remember lusting over the Prada versions a while back, Carey Milligan had one. So when I spotted this it was a must buy! It is quite short so it will have be a dress only worn with tights. I won't be able to wear it in the summer. Im not sure I like my hair straight, usually I tie it up in a bun when its half dry to increase my natural waves. It just seems to lack volume. I have tried to backcomb it a bit at the roots but it still looks limp to me.

I am off round my boyfriends dads girlfriends house for dinner tonight. Boy that was a bit of a mouthful eh? I have never been round there before but my boyfriend says its massive and she has an all important games room. Exciting stuff! I love having a nosy round someones house! Anyone else the same?

Off to see Cage the Elephant tomorrow at the Electric Ballroom. I saw them at Reading in 2008 and they were crazy to say the least! The lead singer had a pink tutu on swigging from a bottle of Jager so hopefully it will more of the same tomorrow ha!
