OOTD: Winter florals midi dress

Grey ombre coat: ASOS (similar)
Poppy red medium Lily: Mulberry (similar)

An afternoon out at The Goring called for a new dress so naturally I had to oblige. This floral number was found at F&F for a mere £25. I loved the slightly 70s feel and and the long sleeves. I just need to dig out my burgundy fedora to complete the look. I say it time and time again but Tesco really is my favourite supermarket for clothes. They always bring out such gems season after season at reasonable prices and good quality.

Well we've well and truly been hit with that cold snap eh? So much for that mild winter that had us all complaining. What I'd do for that now! This weekend I'll be celebrating nine years with my boyfriend and scratching my head at how it's been so long. We've got a hotel booked in East London for Saturday night, cocktails and a Hozier gig in South London before a late brunch at Duck and Waffle on the Sunday. Something I'm so excited for. I've been dying to get a table booked there for months. Those views from the Heron Tower *insert heart eyed emoji|*.

So the last week of 2015 eh? I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I certainly did! It will full of lots of family bonding, incredible food, too many bubbles and lots of films. I feel utterly exhausted and not quite sure how I'm going to get back into a decent routine. Does anyone struggle with knowing what day it is between Christmas and New Year? It just feels like a fun-filled blur!

I was very kindly gifted this gorgeous coat and these boots from my parents for Christmas. I think the coat was actually bought around October time so I was patiently binding my time until I could finally wear it. Talk about a slow torture! It was well worth the long wait. I have such a soft spot for statement coats. Spending the last 26 years living in the UK - also known as the Arctic during the winter - had given me a deep appreciation for a decent coat so they're always worth the investment. After all, you wear them for nine months of the year!

I also just wanted to say thank you so much for your kind comments on the last post. You guys are pretty darn cool!

OOTD: Snakeskin shoes

Outfit:
Cream camisole: Topshop
Black smart culottes: Topshop (similar)
Snakeskin courts: Carvela (similar)

As much as I like lairy, bright colours and imposing, patterned clothes, sometimes I just want to wear something a little more classic. Which usually means monochrome. You can't get more classic than monochrome eh? Thanks to my unstable income, I'm having to root around in my messy wardrobe to work with what I have. I stumbled across these culottes that hadn't been given much love recently and stalked Pinterest for some inspiration. Previously I'd paired them with a warm polo jumper and a sparkly green crop top but this has to be my favourite combination. A combination I reckon I'll be wearing time and time again.

This weekend will be spent within the bosom of my family. My uncle is getting married today so no doubt I will be feeling a little delicate tomorrow. My cousins always seem to bring out the worst hangovers. In the world. But it'll be worth the headache, sore feet and empty purse. You just can't beat a family get together eh?!

OOTD: Pink Midi Skirt

Outfit:
Pink textured midi skirt: H&M (Similar)
Black roll neck vest: ASOS (Similar)
Black faux snakeskin court shoes: Next (Similar)
Black faux fur clutch bag: Topshop (Similar)

This is my fall safe skirt. It's what I pick when I'm panicking ten minutes before I'm due to head out about nothing in my wardrobe looking decent. When that double helping at dinner immediately feels like a huge mistake. I know I can pop it on and immediately feel all right again. The gorgeous colour and length makes an all-important statement. In my opinion it only needs a few simple accessories to make it work - I like it let the colour take centre stage. I always pair it with black and oversized clutch, then I can head out the door with 5 minutes to spare.

Do you have an item of clothing that's your go to when you're having a mare?

No, I don't really know what I'm supposed to say

I know I only posted about this skirt a few weeks ago but it's far to pretty to just leave hanging in the wardrobe right? I thought this time I'd show off how I wear it a bit more casually. If wearing a massive skirt actually counts as casual.. I wore this out for my birthday day out in London last Friday for my birthday - 26 SAY WHAT?! - for afternoon tea on a routemaster and a cracking breakfast at Caravan. It was the ideal skirt to conceal all that food I managed to scoff.

It's funny that the older I'm getting the younger I'm feeling. Is this just me? I'm not really that fussed about being 26 more the fact that I'm in shock I've reached this age. How on earth has 26 years whizzed past? I'm still as inappropriate and silly as ever and I hope this never changes. No one ever said grown ups had to be sensible. I just need to make sure I have a pair of flats in my bags when I'm wearing heels. Omph my back!

P.S can you seen my nan photobombing? She was getting bored...

Leopard

Leopard print faux fur coat: c/o FandF
Grey chunky knit cropped jumper: c/o Next (similar)
Pleather midi skirt: Pretty Little Thing (similar)
Croc print chunky heeled shoes: c/o FandF
Purple floral phone case: c/o Inconemesis

Can I just say how utterly amazing is this coat? So warm and snuggly! I managed to snag an invite to the Florence and Fred SS preview throw work and we were very kindly given a voucher in the goodie bag. I'd seen this coat on other blogs and knew immediately it had to be mine. It's such a bargain at under £40. It's a good job we don't have a clothing section in my local Tesco as i'd be spending an absolute fortune. I've recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 - so with the times I know! - so it must have been fate when Iconemesis emailed to see if I wanted to try out a new phone case. I went for a floral design and thought the colours seemed lovely and wintery.

This weekend will be spent with lots of cinema trips to see The Hunger Games and a sneak preview of Paddington tomorrow in London. I think i'm more excited by the latter if i'm honest. Paddington's a cheeky chap isn't he? Other than that I have a hot date with my best friend tonight in the form of pjs, apple pie and a takeaway. The only way to watch The X Factor.

What are your plans for the weekend?

I'm not looking for a new England

Outfit:
Red checked cotton midi dress: ASOS (similar)
Light wash demin jacket: Primark (similar)
Gold ornate statement necklace: Car boot (similar)
White gem block heeled sandals: Next (similar)

I can't be the only one who's happy that summer seems to have picked up again? August was a bit of a wash out so fingers crossed September is due to be a scorcher. I went car booting at the weekend and picked up three necklaces - one of which i'm showcasing - and some amazing dinner plates for my non-exsistant house. You can't beat a bargain and i'm sad that there's not much of the car boot season left. The dress is an oldie but a goodie. It's my fail safe dress, something I turn to when I don't quite know what to wear or am in a rush to catch my train in the morning. It's so easy to throw on and helps to make you look presentable. I'm all about having not having to make much effort in the morning - beauty sleep is a precious thing!

This week is a quiet one and i'm looking forward being a hermit at home and not really going out. Sometimes life just gets too busy and as much as it's so nice to see friends, sometimes it's just as nice to sit indoors with Netflix for company and slobbing out in your pjs.

Does anyone else have any exciting plans for this week?

Polka dots filled my eyes.

Outfit:
White roll neck vest top: Topshop
Grey scuba polka dot midi skirt: Topshop (similar as sold out online)
White gem block heeled sandals: Next (similar)
Black leather Bayswater: Mulberry

This skirt is massive. Totally massive. It well and truly puts the 'full' in a full skirt. I was immediately drawn to it during a Topshop browse and went back to it three times, trying to persuade myself I needed to be sensible. For once. Clearly that worked out well. It just had to come home with me and two people have since told me it's got my name written all over it. All in all it sums up the fact it was the right decision to splash the cash. I adore the material and the fact it's just so bouncy and big. It makes me want to swirl around like a little girl and I'm even willing to overlook like fact it makes my bum put Beyoncรฉ's to shame. There's no buyers regret happening at my end. In fact it's going to be hard to keep it off my body...

I love you but you're green

Outfit:
Green palm print 50s style dress: Zara c/o Westfield London
Light wash denim jacket: Primark (similar)
Gold boyfriend watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Black pointed flat with an ankle strap: Next (similar)

As soon as I spied this out of the corner of my eye when I walked in, I knew it was more or less coming home with me. There's just something about the 50s style that draws me in, Every time. I can see this being a staple in the warmer months. It's great to dress down for a lazy weekend - plenty of room for food in that beauty. Or dress up with a pair of skyscraper shoes and a leather jacket for a night on the tiles. I do love a multi-tasker!

How lovely has this weekend be? Ah everything is ten times better in the sunshine! I did a bootsale yesterday - less said about that the better - and just sat in a friends garden on Saturday eating far too many burgers. Bliss. I'm counting down the days until next weekend as i'm off to Nottingham for a few days to stay with a friend. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!

Did you have a nice weekend?
