OOTD: Floral duster coat

Black pony hair heeled sandals: New Look (similar)

So is summer really over? By the amount of showers, Mother Nature would certainly have you thinking so. I'm still not ready to pack my sandals away. Despite the rain, its still pretty muggy so this is where thin duster coats come in handy. They cover you up but are light enough to not make you overheat. Especially on the tube. Gosh since commuting back into the city, I've been suffering on the underground. The Central Line was reported to have reached 38 degrees recently. Keep me in your thoughts please.

OOTD: Floral Kimono

Outfit:
V&A print floral kimono: Oasis
White asymmetrical chiffon tunic: ASOS (similar)
Black ripped skinny jeans: (Similar)
Silver leather lace ups: ASOS

As soon as I saw the images for the new V&A collection at Oasis I knew I had to own at least one piece. I was umming and ahhing for a while, flitting back and forth between this kimono and these culottes. I thought I would get more wear out of the kimono so opted for this first. I'm frantically selling on eBay now so I can get my hands on the culottes. And possibly the other kimono. Maybe. I got these snazzy shoes and tunic thanks to a cheeky 20% discount code that ASOS had on offer. Those guys are so good to me over there! But it's about time I give my bank account a bit of a break.

Fat Face - the wardrobe edit

Fat Face recently got in touch with me and asked me if I wanted to collaborate. They wanted me to style up a couple of pieces going from day to night. I opted for this pretty floral cotton midi skirt and the classic denim jacket. Both brilliant staples for the summer months!

I wanted to keep them both fairly summery so I chose to pick out the white in the skirt to use as a base. The Converse help to bring everything down a notch to make it a bit more suitable for everyday.  A loose cropped tee again gives it a dressed down feel.

I always think a crop top and a pair of heels immediately take a casual outfit to something a bit more dressy. Heels make everything look more immaculate in my opinion! I rolled the sleeves of the jacket up to help make a distinction between day and night. A slick of pink lippie gives it a finishing touch.

OOTD: Snakeskin shoes

Outfit:
Khaki trench coat: Primark (similar)
Roll neck black tunic: ASOS
Black ripped knee jeans: F&F
Snakeskin effect heeled pumps: Carvela via TK Maxx (similar)

Excuse the extremely windswept hair - I've heard it's the new thing for S/S14.

When I'm having a bit of a podge day I opt for an all-black outfit. It does wonders for the self esteem! It needs a bit of a boost at the minute which is why I've joined Slimming World. Hopefully it will help me kick self-esteem's butt. Please feel free to share any SW food blogs. I'm always after meal inspiration. Black also helps makes me feel a little it more put together and dare I say, a little classy. I know, I know. Stranger things have happened.

I'd just like to say a huge thank you for everyone's kind words on my friendship post. The love it's gotten has made me blush - you're all such babes. I'm so glad that so many of you can relate to it and I'm not alone. Be strong guys! You don't have to settle in friendships. You all deserve so much better.

Seeing spots

Outfit:
Burgundy and black polka dot wiggle dress: ASOS (Similar)
Faux suede block heel court shoes: F&F (similar)
Black oversize faux fur bag: Topshop
Quilted faux leather jacket: Zara (similar)
Ruby and Garnet rings: Vintage

This dress is an old faithful that I can't believe hasn't made an appearance on the old blog yet. It's my absolute favourite style of dress and I'd buy them all up from ASOS if I had the money. It's just so flattering and is the perfect dress to hide any food babies - just as well as I'm wearing this out to go for dinner at my friends birthday at Inamo tonight. I always feel a little bit sassy whenever I pop this beauty on which means it's pretty much the perfect dress right?!

Here are a few of my favourite wiggle dresses available on ASOS at the minute.

The room is on fire as she's fixing her hair

Outfit:
Black duster coat - Topshop
Semi sheer black cami- Topshop (similar)
Burgundy skinny jeans- New Look
Croc print pointed courts - F&F (similar)

I succumbed to the duster coat trend after an innocent trip into town at lunch to pick up something for work. I had to pass Topshop and this was in the front door with a reduced ticket swinging from it. Obviously I had to go in to investigate and before I knew it, I was at the till handing over my plastic. It was just £30 and I thought it would be great to help jazz up my jean collection. It instantly smartens up any outfit and makes me feel presentable even if I've only rolled out of bed 15 minutes before.

The countdown for Christmas is well and truly on! I can't believe just how fast December is whizzing past especially as it felt like November was lingering. I've completed all my Christmas shopping, got my Christmas Eve outfit sorted and buying my cards tomorrow. I'm well and truly ready for the big day. The week off work is making me very excited indeed. I've got my box sets sorted so if you want me I'll be snuggled under my duvet, drooling over Jon Snow and stuffing my face with the leftover sweets.

Are you looking forward to Christmas?

The Highline

Outfit:
Neon floral tunic: Topshop
Navy skinny jeans: New Look
White block heeled court shoes: c/o F&F
Silver multi strand necklace: Car Boot find (similar)

I'm back from New York broke, fat and sore. So, so sore! I wish I could do it all over again next week. We did so much but yet so little. I guess that just means we have to plan another trip to fit in all the things we didn't have time to do! The city was everything I thought it'd be and more. We were so blessed with the warm weather, it was actually too hot at times and I did not have the right clothes at all! We even managed to experience some snow at 11.30pm in Times Square despite having gotten sunburnt the day before. Madness! It was not fun trying to hail a taxi when you've got a thin coat on and think you're able to die of frostbite. But i'm still alive!

Be prepared to be bombarded with lots of NYC posts!

These pictures were taken on the Highline in Greenwich Village - my favourite part of Manhattan I got to visit. It reminded me of Soho - such a great place to people watch, It's a brilliant old railway converted into a green space and it offers immense views over the city. You can see for miles! It's right next door to Chelsea Market too which is well worth a visit. You'll find lots of handmade quirky bits and bobs alongside some vintage gems. Make sure you check out the delicious food section too!

Inspire me

Outfit:
Red sheer utility shirt: Dorothy Perkins
White and Black striped pleated midi skirt: c/o F&F
White block heeled courts: c/o F&F

A email popped in my inbox a week or so ago asking me if I'd like to take part in the Inspire Me feature named "How you're wearing". When I read the challenge was focusing on midi skirts and prints, I was sold. It sounded like it was made for me no?

I opted for the gorgeous pleated midi skirt and had a little left over on my voucher so I managed to get these heels as well when I put some money towards them. Yes you have seen them before in black! They are so comfy and I wish they did them in a rainbow of colours. I don't think you can go wrong with a monochrome outfit as it always looks so classy. The best thing is you can add any colour you want to jazz it up a bit. I chose a red shirt as I love these three colours together. I have to admit this is one of my favourite recent outfits! I may flirt with trousers every now and again but I really do feel myself in a midi skirt. I feel like they just sum me up down to a tee!

I've been reading so much about pleated midi skirts being a staple for spring so was very pleased to be able to get my grubby little hands on this one. It's a perfect length and with an elasticated waist it's great to tuck a top in to - the pleats hang beautifully.

How would you have styled the midi skirt?
