Who knew such an urban oasis existed in central London? During a farewell trip to Lily's flat for an annual picnic - good luck in Dubai! - a few of us snuck out to snap a few outfit photos. Those pesky bloggers eh? What a treat it was to finally go to the Barbican conservatory. I loved it and hoping I can make it for afternoon tea very soon.

I know I've made a schoolboy error featuring this grey coat in two consecutive outfit posts but I just can get enough of it. It's such a great length and I adore the two splits up the side. I spotted it in the sale before Christmas and managed to blag it as a present. Since having an offer accepted on a house, I've been manically sale shopping because I just can't justify spending too much money on clothes. It's amazing what you can find! ASOS have a great sale section all year round and Love The Sales has 500 retailers all in one place proving you don't just have to wait till January to grab a bargain!

How to wear leopard print heels

I've mentioned before that leopard print in my jam so these Lotus shoes were a welcomed addition to my wardrobe. Thanks to the comfortable midi heel, they're the ideal shoe to go from day to night. Comfortable to wear all day to work and then smart enough to go out in the evening for a few drinks. What more could you want? To make sure they pack a punch, I've paired them with a simple crisp white shirt and a classic grey tailored coat to let the shoes be the talking point. I always think statement shoes really help to bring an outfit up a notch. That and a slick of lipstick!

How to wear a leopard print coat

I have such a soft spot for leopard print in all forms. Shoes, coats, dress and bags. But sometimes it just doesn't work. You want to look classy not tacky. Now I much prefer more muted, understated animal prints. I feel like they can be remixed better as the more gaudy patterns can make an outfit look too busy. As much as I love clashing prints on other people, I just don't like them on me. So what are my tips on how to wear a leopard print coat?

I like to wear a neutral top underneath, This chunky knit gray jumper is a bit less boring than black or white but still offers a good base. It keeps in with the snuggly winter theme I was aiming for. A white crisp shirt will also work well. These distressed black jeans again add a neutral base. But the ripped knees and frayed ankles help to keep the skinnies interesting. Finally the tan boots bring out the browns in the coat to bring the whole outfit together and the red bag brings a pop of colour. I think accessories are great to jazz up an outfit.

Nothing ground breaking but a typical autumn weekend outfit. Put together to combat the brisk weather and for a day spent wandering around my favourite part of London. I'd been after a pair of black skater shoes for a while and stumbled across these Vans in TK Maxx during a lunchtime trip. Reduced to £25, I thought they were an absolute bargain and couldn't leave them behind. The leather look croc detailing helps to make them feel a little bit smarter.

I've been coming to Greenwich since I was a kid and it never gets old. The Cutty Sark, Maritime Museum, Queen's House and the market all hold fond memories. But there's still things I've yet to do. The Meantime Brewery is top of my list! One of my favourite views in London is up high by the Observatory in Greenwich Park. Those stunning views of the city down below get me every time. London is a pretty special place huh?

OOTD: Smart casual

So we've now hit Autumn eh? How the hell has that rolled around - wasn't it Christmas like a few weeks ago?! Gone are the bare legs and sleeveless dresses. I always find this time of year so difficult to dress for. I don't want to get into wearing tights too early yet I don't want to freeze to death either as the temperature has definitely been dropping. So skinny jeans and a blazer will be my go-to outfit to suck it up! Despite my boyfriend commenting I looked liked a middle aged woman off to a christening, I actually really liked this outfit. I felt well put together and maybe a little bit trendy too. It's been a while since I've felt like that!

This weekend will be consisting of a monster viewing of houses - it's finally time to take the plunge and become an adult. I've got a night out in north London tonight for a friends birthday with tomorrow consisting of being lazy and attempting something from my old friend Mary Berry. Who said I don't live a rock and roll lifestyle?!

OOTD: Red smock dress

This is quite possibly one of the most unflattering things that I own but also the most comfortable. Priced at under £15, I spotted this a good few months ago in my lunch break and purchased it immediately in preparation for my holiday. I wanted clothes that were light, loose, comfortable and easy to pack. This ticked all the right boxes. One of my favourite purchases this summer! I can tell it's going to be a style staple whenever sunshine decides to appear.

I wore it out for a lazy Saturday brunch in east London with my favourite gal pals. Elodie and Lauren were visiting London so it was a good excuse to try somewhere new and catch up.  It felt like they had never moved away! Don't you just love a Bank Holiday weekend?

I've been stockpiling lots of summer dresses ready for my trip to Copenhagen at the beginning of July. Which really means I've been obsessively checking the new in section on ASOS and buying lots of things I don't really need. Standard behaviour. One of the things I came across during my daily search was this green midi. It was lovely at first sight. A dress that goes from day to night. Perfect for a day exploring Copenhagen before retiring for dinner in the Danish city. Its casual enough to wander but smart enough to make it look like you've made an effort. What more could you want from a dress? I gave the dress a debut during a lazy Saturday walk around Battersea Park before feeding our faces at the Prince Albert pub. But more on that pub lunch in the next post. Spoiler. It was absolutely delicious!

Gosh the temperature seems to have dropped this last few days eh? I thought Spring was suppose to be making an appearance now! The cold snap has meant layers are keys to keeping warm. Luckily a chunky roll neck jumper and oversized blanket coat have been helping. A pair of tan ankle boots are such staple in any wardrobe and these ones feel like wearing slippers. So comfy. Definitely no blisters from these. Just as well really as I walked a staggering 14km that day!

I wore this at the weekend for a day of exploring South London with Lily, Sarah and expert photographer Hannah. It was a day of eating. Lots of eating. We stumbled across these almshouses in Bermondsey during a wander down to Maltby Street market. It's amazing what you can find once you wander of the beaten track. London is full of surprises.
