Santa baby

I'd like to find these under my tree on Christmas morning. Of course they are all overpriced and my chances of owning anything are slim to none. But you never know I may grab them in the sales.

Asos Pepper Platform Peep Toe Mary Jane Shoes - £50

Glitter shoes. Need I say more?

Leopard Contrast Collar Coat - £75

Yeah I know I already have a leopard print coat but I don't have one with a black collar. I am going to try and hunt this baby down in the sales.

Velvet Halter Dress: £68

I am a sucker for velvet. And this dress is mustard. Complete win in my eyes.

Asos dress with Embellished Collar Skater - £65

I spotted this dress in the Asos magazine that gets sent to my house to taunt me. I have lusted over it ever since.

When I hear those drums late at night I know i'm in love

Outfit:
Multi-coloured aztec long cardigan: Primark
Wine coloured skinny jeans: Primark
Black long vest top: H&M
Nude coloured bow loafers: Primark
Gold coloured ball necklace: Topshop

I am the first to admit that I am not a jean person. I get depressed when they don't fit and I feel like they draw attention to the old child bearing hips. But I was so desperate to jump on the coloured jeans wagon that I threw caution to the wind! I would never wear these with a short top and a long cardigan is a must. Just as well I spotted this beauty in the shopping mecca. It is so warm and cosy, adding a much needed brightness to the day. How depressing that it was dark about 3.45 eh? Not the most exciting of outfit but it kept me very warm today!

On another note how red do my lips look? Maybe need to stay off the Benetint....

I am off round my boyfriend's house as his sister is cooking the family dinner tonight. If I get food posioning it has been lovely knowing you! Haha jokes, just kidding Leone :) Hope you all have a lovely evening whatever you do. Especially you Hannah, sorry I am so rubbish with money that I couldn't make tonight :(

As always come chat to me on Twitter, I don't bite!

F&F at Tesco Spring/Summer '12 preview

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the Tesco bloggers evening where I got to have another natter with the gorgeous Sarah, Sarah, Hannah and Lily. I also got to meet Kat, Emma Lizzy and Jazmine for the first time who are lovely in real life!

I trotted off to Waterloo to the amazing OXO2 dragging my boyfriends sister along as my plus one, too be fair she didn't take much persuasion! The evening consisting of making funny faces in the photobooth, attacking the Stylist man for Topshop vouchers, chasing the waitress around to nab some fish and chips, becoming part of the blue ring club after finding one in a cracker, lusting over gorgeous summer clothes and making the most of the champange. So as you can probably tell, it was a wonderful evening!

Oh the clothes! They were gorgeous! I fell completely head over heels for this cream lace mid dress. It was completely beautiful and felt like it had my name written all over it. I cannot wait for it to hit the stores.

How pretty is this floral maxi skirt? Who would have guessed that you could pick up something as amazing as this in your weekly shop. It will be perfect to take on holiday with a simple vest top and a pair of gold sandals.

I also fell in love with this bright pink bag. It is the perfect size to carry all my junk around and add a pop of colour to any outfit.

I am so pleased to find that midi skirts will be bang on trend again come the summer months. They are the perfect length for work. I love the colour of this green pleated skirt, isn't it lovely?

I love the frills around the neckline on this navy and white polka dot jumpsuit. It helps to add a little extra. Again this would be perfect in the summer months with a pair of sandals and a white shawl for when it gets a bit chilly.

Nomnomnomnom.

Photobooth fun!

Me and my plus one for the evening. Photo credit goes to Hannah.

Thank you very much to F&F team for throwing such a fantastic night and to Elana at We Are Social for the invite.

When she wakes up in the morning she writes down all of her dreams

Outfit:
Cream skater dress: H&M
Heart patterned tights: Primark
Black faux suede wedges: New Look
Leopard print faux fur coat: Next
Gold ball necklace: Topshop
Gold round wire earrings: Topshop
Assorted gold bangles: Topshop, Acessorize and Primark
Red plastic watch: Toywatch

Yes yes I know I have worn this dress in my last proper outfit post but I am a pauper and don't have any money to buy any clothes. Plus everyone wears an outfit more than once right? Soz for the awful facial expression in the first picture, my camera is complete poop and it hates taking more than one picture.

I have not had this coat off my back since last Tuesday, it is perfect for winter. It has really gone cold recently. I also feel a bit like Bet Lynch in it which can only be a good thing as she rocked the old animal print back in the day. So pleased to be busting out my patterned tights, shamefully found about 7 new pairs in my drawers. Too pretty to be kept hidden away!

Off out for the first time in four Fridays, just a shame it is only to the local pub for some karoke. Quite a few people are work are leaving as they are opening up a Next Home store in town so they are transfering over. For £3 we get a the back room of a pub, as much buffet as we can eat and the chance to laugh at colleagues destroying their favourite songs. What more do you want from a night out eh? I have also been giving the weekend off work. Score! Going to try and source out some indoor bootsales or jumbles to visit. Seeing Foster the People Sunday night, guess I actually need to listen to a few of their songs. I only booked a ticket for a night out!

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I have had some good news. I will working full time back in London as from the week after next. I have been offered a two month internship in Hoxton with the possibility that it will be made into a more permament position is all goes well! Fingers crossed that I impress eh? I cannot wait to be back in the city and writing again!

What have all you lovelies got planned for weekend?

An evening with Motel and Glossybox

As I mentioned on Sunday I was very lucky to be invited to the Motel/Glossybox bloggers evening to showcase the company's fantastic Christmas collection. Boy do Motel know how to throw a party! It was amazing! I took advantage, as you do, of the cocktails, popcorn and candy floss as well as having a cheeky cupcake or two! I have honestly never seen so many bloggers all in once place. It was so nice to have people to talk to about blogging, I usually get from my friends "huh you take pictures of yourself? Why?"

To be honest I had never shopped in Motel because I just assumed that it was just bodycon and I have never been a fan of trying to squeeze myself into a tight dress. How wrong was it? They sell everything from coloured jeans, leopard print blouses and lace shorts. I had a lot of trouble chosing an item to take home with me so put down two, very excited to see what one I am to be given!

I finally met the lovely ladies who I pester on twitter so much and thus then started to pester them in real life too. Sarah, Rachel, Charlotte, Hannah and Eloise all made me feel so welcome and not so much of a loon when I started to stalk them! I also met up again with Steph and Dani but unfortunately didn't get to talk them as much as I would have like! I met some new ladies such as Rebecca and Sarah. I am so sorry if I didn't get the chance to say boy or hello to anyone, I felt a bit overwhelmed and just didn't know who to talk to. I just keep floating all over the place! I am also sorry if I have missed you off my list, I lost track of just how many people I spoke it!

Thank you so so much for Motel and Glossybox for throwing such a fantastic shindig and to Selina for inviting me :)

I was very kindly given permission to use the photos by the Glossybox team and Steph. I haven't included any pictures of my mug as I am in dire need of a fringe cut. I look like cousin It and you would not have been able to see my face anyway :)

A snapshot #3

001. After a rubbish day at work my boyfriend was waiting for me at home with this gorgeous bunch of flowers. What made it even the more lovely was the fact I wasn't due to see him that night because he was off out with his football friends. He rushed home on his way to Camden, he's a sweetheart eh?

002. After constant moaning about not losing any weight, to be honest I haven't been putting as much effort in as I can. I have decided the make the most of my Jazzacise membership and have been four times this week. Hopefully this will be the sign of things to come!.

003. London town. I spent quite a few days in London this week which is always a pleasure. I just wish I was back working full time in the city, I miss it.

004 - 005. One of the reasons I went to London was to attend the Motel/Glossybox blogger event. I was so shocked when the invite came through my inbox but oh so happy. I had such an amazing time meeting all my favourite bloggers. Got a post dedicated to this coming up soon!

Ethical Fashion

Outfit:
Orange full skirt dress: River Island via eBay
Black vintage kelly handbag: Carboot
Vintage silk scarf: Beyond Retro
Blue cameo necklace: Charity shop
Black cardigan: Primark
Black faux suede smoking slippers: Next

This post is part of a competition entry for the Ethical Fashion blog. The competition is open to all fashion bloggers so why not pop over to Style Eyes Ethical Fashion blog to find out more. The prizes are amazing! The only rule is at least one item of your outfit must be upcycled, vintage, second hand, ethical fashion shops, from a jumble, carboot or charity shop.

I must admit I have not fully jumped onto the ethical fashion bandwagon just yet. I am still in the stage of liking to have lots of things rather than just a few things. I am still a fast fashion kinda of girl. I have however fully hopped onto the charity shop and vintage bandwagon and can't see me getting off anytime soon.

It has always been a running joke amongst my friends that I dress like a granny. It's no secret that I lust over things from the bygone eras. As much as I love spending hours in a vintage shop I hate the prices. What do they have to be so darn expensive? Hence why I tend to get most of my vintage from charity shops and carboots. I love the fact that the items have a history behind them and the fact that they are originals. It is so much nicer actually owning a bag from the 1960's rather than having a replica from Topshop. Of course there is always the plus of wearing something that no one else has, I have often been out and spotted someone in the same dress as me. Oh the shame!

This post reminds me how I need to make more of an effort to visit charity shops to pick up some goodies! Nothing beats a charity shop binge.

What are your opinions on ethical fashion? Do you frequent charity shops?

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser - Review

Since working in London my skin has suffered. The grime has not been my friend. For the first time in my life I have been suffering with breakouts and greasy hair. So when I was kindly contacted by Liz Earle offering me the chance to review their famous clense and polish cleanser I jumped at the chance. I was given this quite a few weeks ago but wanted to nearly finish the bottle so that I can give it a full and honest review.
I must admit that I am not beauty expert but I am all game for trying out new things. I spend far too much money on my local Boots buying any new potions and lotions that I can get my grubby mitts on.

I was gifted the starter set which comes complete with two muslin cloths costing £13.75. I have been using the cleanser at least once a day for the past few months. I try to do it twice a day but sometimes my bed shouts at me too much at the end of the night so I have to give it a miss. It feels lovely and luxurious on my skin. I think this is down to the fact it contains cocoa butter. This is my all time favourite ingredient, my boyfriend always comments on the fact that I smell like milky bars!
The website states that it "quickly removes daily grime and make up to leave skin clean, soft and radiant." The cleanser contains rosemary, chamomile, hops and eucalyptus. It has two stages. First you massage the cleanser into your skin and then you rinse the muslin cloth in warm water to "polish".
My skin has really benefited and I have really noticed the difference. My skin feels so soft and I haven't experience any tightness on my skin, a problem that I have experienced with a few cleansers. I haven't been using it to take my make up off as I prefer to use wipes but as a cleanser I can't fault it. I am a sucker for packaging, it has to really grab me in the shop. I think the Liz Earle range looks sleek and expensive and it looks fab on my dressing table. I love the idea of using a muslin cloth as it feels so much more better on my skin than cotton wool. It doesn't feel as harsh and it is great that it is reusuable. Helping the environment and all that jazz!
I am a complete and utter convert. I am dreading the day that this runs out and will be hot-footing it over to the Liz Earle website to repurchase. While I am at it I might cheekily treat myself to the toner and moisturiser. Hurry up payday!

Once again, like a broken record, so sorry for the quality of pictures. Still no camera!

Vero Moda Lookbook Spring/Summer '12

While I have been assisting on Junior I have been lucky enough to be able to tag along to some press shows with the fashion assistant. As a result I have been collecting lots of lookbooks and it is making me yearn for some sunshine so I can wear the pretty clothes.

One of the press shows that caught my eye was Vero Moda. I have vaguely been aware of it after spotting it on various blogs and flicking through clothes on ASOS. With Alexa Chung just announced as the face of the brand, it's profile is only going to explode.
This flamingo dress (due to be launched in March) caught my eye straight away. I feel like I should be holidaying in Miami with a cocktail in one hand laying on a sun lounger. I am a sucker for animal prints, they just seem so wonderfully kitsch.
I am so pleased to see that midi lengths are going to be on trend for yet another season. It really is my perfect skirt. I am loving the tie dye effect on this skirt (also coming out in March). This whole outfit just seems brilliant for holidays in the sun.
This is the sort of dress that I wish I was cool enough to pull off (delivered into stores in Feburary). It just seems so fashion forward and I love the colour blocked. Hang onto your coloured jeans for another season girls, you will need them to work the trends in the summer!
I love the hot pink clutch peaking out from under the models arm. It really makes the outfit go pop! Does lace ever go out of fashion? These cream lace shorts are so cute and are available from March.

What has caught your eye at Vero Moda? Would you be interested in seeing some more of the different look books?

P.S Sorry about the dark images, I took pictures of pictures!

Happy Aussie-versary

I was very lucky to attend the Aussie-versary VIP party last night where I had the pleasure of meeting so many lovely people such as Lisa, Dani, Steph, Charlotte, Sinead, Abby and Steph. If I missed anyone out I am sorry, I met so many people that night! They were all so friendly and really made me feel welcome. Especially as my dad was convinced that I was meeting up with serial killer, don't ask, so I was a bit nervous to say the least! I felt like I was at a school disco waiting for the hottest boy in school to ask me to dance but after the champagne I was chatting to everyone!

How amazing is that Aussie hamper? We got to help ourselves to some products to take home. Needless to say I was very excited and as an Aussie virgin I cannot wait to try them all out. I think I might treat myself to the deep conditioner later this week.

I felt very special as I look full advantage of having my hair beautifully curled, as someone who has heavy hair my curls are not always my friend. They always drop out and I have to put so much hairspray on. But I have no idea how the stylist did it but these curls were so soft and stayed in until this morning. I also wore foundation for the first time as I got my make up done, not sure I was a fan! I wimped out getting my shamefully bitten nails done, too embarrassed!

I think I enjoyed the half naked men serving me canapรฉs a bit more than I should have, although it was a bit disturbing when one of them started serving sausages...

The venue was amazing and tucked away on Shaftesbury Avenue where we had full use of the rooftop, felt very exclusive! We all found it surprisingly well after a little help from an iphone!
I haven't been to many posh venues; I tend to stick to the dark and dingy ones.

I would like to say a massive thank you to Lisa for allowing me to gatecrash and to Steph who allowed me to use her pictures. Fingers crossed I will get invited to some more events in the future, they are so much fun!

Just a skater girl

Outfit:
Cream skater dress: H&M
Black chain belt: Primark
Black opaque tights: Primark
Black studded smoking slippers: Topshop

Gosh this camera is awful, bring on getting a new one. I feel like I have lost a limb without my normal camera!

This dress was a bargain at £15, even better that I had a voucher to use so it was in reality free! Orginally brought it for work but alas it's too short and I am sure people in the office do not want to see my behind so it has be resigned for meals out. Shame you can't really see my shoes but I brought those studded loafers from Topshop that everyone seems to be blogging about. Know what ones I mean? They are so comfy and literally feel like slippers. Best £28 I have spent in a long time!

Off out tonight for my best friends birthday to eat lots of noodles. I am gatecrashing her family meal! Not seen her since before the summer so I am very excited to see her beautiful face. Just a shame she's not down for longer. Ahhh well hopefully I can kidnap her when she comes home for Christmas. Kinda selfish of her to live so far away to be honest!

Massive hello to my new readers, you seem to have appeared from nowhere! I am very grateful that you read the old blog.

A snapshot #2

001. My Glossybox came though the post this week. I was really pleased with all the products especially the nail varnish. It applies like a dream! I completely understand why some people were disappointed as it was a bit of a con to get four products all by the same brand

002. After finishing my contract last Friday I have found myself at a loose end. I have spent most of this week lazing around in bed watching True Blood. Nearly finished the first series, just need to get my hands on the second.

003. I decided to have a little raid of the charity shops and came away pleasantly surprised. I found another wine coloured Kelly bag in pristine condition to add to my collection. Managed to get my hands on Never Been Kissed, amazing film. I used to watch it all the time when I was at school. I finally finished off the Stieg Larsson trilogy so am starting the first one this week. The uno cards will come in handy perfectly to take on holiday to pass some time round the pool.

004. New shoes! I jumped on the glitter shoe bandwagon with these beauties. Not the most sensible thing to do as I don't have a job but look how pretty they are! They will be perfect for the festive season. Who needs Miu Miu?

005. Nom nom nom! Me and the boy trotted off to Westfield for the day extremely hungover. Shopping is not fun when your head feels like it is about to explode. However this jerk chicken managed to soften the blow. It was amazing!

What has your week been like?

Graduation

Last Wednesday was a very proud day. I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a 2.1. There were some points during the degree that I doubted I would ever come away with anything. I am not one of these people that can cram a few days before or start my coursework a week before due date *cough* my boyfriend who gets 83% in one piece of coursework *cough*. I am not naturally intelligent and have to work so hard in order to get decent grades. That is what makes this degree all the sweeter.

I really did have such a lovely day with my parents and boyfriend. We all trekked to Cambridge to the Corn Exchange, getting up at half 5 was not pleasant. My soppy mum started crying when she saw me in the gown, bless her cottons socks. I think it hit us all just how far we had come, I am the only one that went to University in my family. The degree really was a joint effort; everyone mucked in and put up with me when I turned into a monster before deadlines.

I managed to totter across the stage in my chunky heels without falling over. I had been having nightmares that I would fall flat on my face; I think that walk was the longest of my life! The day ended with amazing three course lunch in Jamies Italian, seriously we need one near me. It was delicious. It was so nice to see everyone again and learn all about what they were doing. Even if it was a bit disheartening to hear that some of them had jobs and I didn't. Ah well my time will come soon!

It went so quickly and before I knew it I was back at home at 4pm trying to cram in a few hours kip before the pub quiz. I wish I could do it all over again.

Somehow I seem to have hit 202 readers! Wow! Thank you all so much and please don't be shy, come and say hello on twitter.
