Birthday Girl

On Monday I turned 23 and it wasn't as scary as I thought. I had such a lovely day surrounded by my amazing family and friends. I was utterly spoilt and felt very lucky. I met my mum and nan for lunch and had my favourite noodle dish Yum Yum chicken. Yes it was just as delish as it looks! My dad whipped up the Hummingbird cupcakes, he's a bit of a dab hand in the baking department!

In the evening my mum put on one of her famous buffets where we end up still eating the leftovers days after. She always puts on the nicest spreads and the way it was demolished by family and friends showed they agreed! I'm not going out with friends until the end of the month. I have to choose payday as everyone is so skint after Christmas. Not that I mind as I get to drag my birthday out for two weeks!

A few snippets of my presents. This completely unflattering owl kigu was an amazing gift from my boyfriend. I absolutely love it even if it does make me look like a two-ton Tessa. In fact I am monging around in it now! My parents treated me to a beautiful Mulberry purse. It was a complete surprise and I can't stop sneaking a peak at it in my bag. It deserves a post of its own. I am going to do a birthday gift post in the next few days as I personally love seeing what other people got!

A massive thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday!

I said are you gonna be my girl

Outfit:
Purple floral playsuit: Next
Cropped black velvet jacket: Topshop
Black tights: Primark
Patent round toed black heels: Primark
Black ponyskin clutch bag: Primark
Lilac flower pearl ring: Primark
Purple cameo brooch: Mothers jewellery box
Nails: OPI Strawberry Margarita and No7

It's always a plus when you think you can't fit in anything anymore and by some miracle it fits when you put it on! Exactly what happened with this playsuit. This outfit is old. The playsuit is about two years old and I brought the jacket with the wages of my first job. £45 is a lot of money when your 15 and only earning £12 a week! I don't think i'll ever chuck it out purely for that reason!

Off out tonight down my nan's local working men's club that she's been going down every saturday night for the past 40 years. Her birthday is the day after mine on Tuesday so she orders a plate of sandwiches the saturday before at the club and all the family trots down there for the evening. Always nice to have a bit of family bonding!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening!

Dream shoes

I have been thinking and decided that from this freelance contract I want to buy something special. I finally want to own my first piece of designer that I have paid with using my own hard earned pennies. I am not the best saver so the Mulberry Bayswater is out of the question at the minute, i'd rather go on holiday 5 times this year to be honest. I have decided on a pair of Vivienne Westwood + Melissa Lady Dragons. Ideally the red below is my ideal pair but they are out of stock in my size so they may just be a distant dream.
Hopefully by the end of May a pair of these beauties will be mine.

Do you own any Vivienne Westwood or Melissa shoes?
