I think your amazing just the way you are

Today is my four year anniversary with my boyfriend and i'm feeling quite sentimental and soppy today. It really is hard to believe that four years have passed since we first met in Sixth Form. He tried to talk to me and apparently I completely ignored him which I cannot remember at all! He thought I was extremely stuck up but really i'm just very shy when it comes to new people and sometimes this come across as rude.
He really is my other half, best friend and confindent rolled into one. I don't think I can find anyone else better suited to me. He is one of thes kindest people I know, always putting other people's thoughts before his. I honestly do not know what I would do without him.

This is one of my favourite pictures, we just both look so young and happy. It was back in the day when we spent every weekend completely drunk and all had to worry about was getting up for sixth form on time. We had only been going out a few months.
This was my 21st birthday party last year. I think he had a better time then me. Anyone would have thought it was his birthday! Its also one of the only photos I have of him not pulling a funny face! He hates having his photo taken whilst sober and when he is drunk he pulls such annoying faces!

Reading 2008, the first festival we went too. Amazing.

This photo cracks me. For the past three years the boys of our group organise a Christmas lag pub crawl. Basically the rules are that everyone has to wear a christmas jumper and hat. Im not usually able to go because the Next Sale is over christmas and I have to work. But last year I had the early shift so was able to make it. This is us in our christmas attire. We look so silly haha!

So there you have it a few of my favourite photots, I could have posted a lot more but I didnt want to bore you. I promise I will get back to proper blogging tomorrow :)

Guess I got too excited when I thought you were around

Tobacco pussy bow dress: Primark
Nude shoes: Primark
Nude tights: Primark
Gold sequin bag: Topshop
Pearl drop earrings: Topshop
Cream hair flower: Primark

I ended up going for the Primark version of this dress, I just cannot afford Topshop at the moment. It is extremely short, im used to wearing midi-length skirts/dresses at the minute so not used to it! Excuse the massive legs I wanted to show you the back of my tights. They were only a pound but my boyfriend says it looks like I have had a skin graft!

I decided to go for a bun, thought as the pussy bow is a statement it deserved to be shown off! I used a doughnut and just pinned my hair around it. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. Now my hair is getting longer, i'm finding I can do more things with it.

Im off to camden tonight and thanks to Robyn and Ellie I have a few ideas of some new places to try out. We tend to still to the same ones out of habit. I'm not going to go too mad as I have work tomorrow but I'm looking forward to having a bit of dance and being with all my favourite boys! Yes I am the only girl going out again haha!

I'm looking forward to blogging again properly next week, I nearly died last week commuting but it was so worth it! I have so much to talk about!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

I do like to be beside the seaside

Look what I "accidentally" brought while I was exchanging a skirt in Primark after work. Marble Arch Primark will be the death of me I swear! I had to pull myself away from things so many times! I might wander down there by mistake again this week, obviously not on purpose!I know it is quite clearly a summer dress but as its so beautiful that I want to wear it now! But I have no idea how to "winter it up". I think i'm going to pair it with white tights but am not sure what colour cardigan to wear? I tried on a black and while it did not look bad, it just felt too dark to me. I feel like it needs lighter colours. What about grey tights?
I am so pleased with it, its the one thing that i spotted in the lookbook that I desperately needed! It reminds me of Prada, didn't they create something like this a few seasons ago? I swear perhaps Carey Mulligan had one on? Excuse me if im completely wrong!
I need your help! How can I make it suitable for Winter?

I had my first day at Nuts magazine and I am shattered! I left my house at 7.30am and finally got in at 8pm. But I think i'm really going to enjoy it. It was a bit quiet today but i've found that most magazines are from previous experience. It must be the monday morning feeling! I sorted out the post and came across quite a few half naked ladies haha. I also got to transcribe an interview with someone from Hollyoaks off a dictaphone. Im looking forward to going back tomorrow.

Versatile Blogger Award

I have been extremely lucky to have been awarded two blog awards recently. Thanks girls I am very honoured! This was the first one.

The lovely Dani tagged me in this a few days ago. As always there are some rules, they are:
1.Thank and link back to who gave you the award.
2.Share 7 things about yourself.
3.Pass it on to 7 beauty blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy.
4.Leave your recipient a note, telling them about the award.

Now i'm going to have to think up some things that might make me sound interesting!

1. I am a fully qualified brownie leader, much to my boyfriends disbelief. He seems to think that Girlguiding is Hitler Youth. I have been volunteering since I was 15 when I first started my Duke of Edinburgh award. It can be hard work at times, 7-10 year olds can be very demanding but I love it. I hope one day to open my own brownie pack.

2. I am grade seven in the clarinet and had music lessons for 11 years. I have hardly picked the instrument up for nearly four years so I may not even be grade one level now haha!

3. I am celebrating my four year anniversary with the boyfriend next week. Time flies when your having fun eh?

4. I have wanted to be a journalist since I was 11 and am now just months away from completely a degree in it. Its mad to think my dream will be coming true. Hopefully!

5. I have an obsession with buying books, I dont even have the time to read them. But everytime I wander in a charity shop I come out with an handful. My mum has started putting them in the loft without asking me haha!

6. My favourite food is cheese and sour cream. Not always together. I love to smoother everything in sour cream and I can sit and eat a block on cheese in one sitting. I dread to think how many calories my homemade nachos have haha!

7. When I was 18 I went on weightwatchers and ended up losing three stone in about four months. It was such hard work but im so proud of myself. I stopped dieting when I got pulled into my head of sixth form's office and asked if I had problems at home haha! Ive now put about a stone of it back but am mostly happy with the way I look.

So now to tag people! I choose these seven lovely people:

I am on work experience all next week in the city so may not be able to blog very much. I should imagine I will spend all my time sleeping when I finally get home!

On another note, thank to everyone who is reading this! I cannot really believe im on 39 followers :) I think im going to organise a little giveaway at 50 to say thank you to everyone. It means so much to me that you read this!

Wild horses

Outfit:
Horse shoe print nude blouse: Primark
Black camisole worn under blouse: Primark
Black pleated skirt: Primark
Black leather satchal: Charity Shop
Leopard print collar coat: Topshop
Black faux suede wedges: New Look
Brooch: Primark
Ring: Mothers
Nail Varnish: Savile Row Nails Inc
Red watch: Toywatch
A bit of a Primark themed outfit today, never realised until I listed everything!

The reason why the details shots are outside is because I took, or rather my mum did, outside for a change of scenery. But they came out far too dark so I just kept the detail ones. Have to put up with my door again, sorry!

The ring was the first thing my dad ever brought my mum for christmas as a sort of engagement ring so it has a lot of sentimental value. She gave it to me as she prefers silver jewellery to me. I love it, i'm not really keen on diamond rings and would much prefer a ring like this for my own engagement ring if anyone ever decided to propse to me haha! I got the brooch for christmas and had been wondering what to do it, I think it compliments the coat quite well! Ive thrown my trusty black wedges on, I seem to wear them with everything recently. So easy to walk in!

Im off out to an Indian tonight for my boyfriends sister 19th birthday. The scary thing is that ive known her since she was 15 so im feeling old at the minute haha! Im not sure whether to have my usual curry or to be adventurous and try something new.

Hello Mulberry

I was an extremely lucky girl on Sunday and became the owner of something Mulberry thanks to my generous and handsome boyfriend.

I have been lusting over Mulberry for as long as I remember and its my dream to own a black patent Mulberry Bayswater. Many people find the design boring and as there are so many lookalikes over the high street, pointless to spend all that money on one. But to me it is the epitome of a girl who works in the city. I have done numerous work experience placements all over London and its my dream to work in the big city as a journalist. I want to be one of those girls I see communting on the tube with her trainers on and with her heels stashed in her Bayswater ready to be put on as soon as she is in front of the office. I want to power dress everyday for work and visit Selfridges in my lunch hour to lust over the shoe galleries.
I actually squealed like a pig when I opened the gift box and spyed the Mulberry tree staring at me. I was almost too afraid to open it! It was wrapped so beautifully, it seemed a shame to ruin it.

Its actually an IPhone case but it has a few compartments in it that I can stash some money and cards in. So Im going to use it everyday as a phone case but use it as a purse for when I go out in the evenings and dont need to carry a bulky purse with me.
My boyfriend remembered that I wanted a patent Bayswater so he got me it to match it. As he is currently training to become a surveyor, I always joke that he can get me a Mulberry bag when he finally qualifies to help celebrate

I keep getting it out of my bag and staring at it, unable to believe that its mine! It is so beautiful and now my most prized pocession. He even paid for a little note to be put in it, isn't he a romantic?

I really don't know how he is going to top this next year!

Afternoon Tea at the Ritz

I spent the afternoon yesterday at the Ritz! God I feel rather posh saying that! It was such a lovely day spent with two of my favourite people, my mum and nan. As many of you know it was a birthday treat for both me and my nan off my darling mother. My birthday was on Sunday and my nans was yesterday. We must have laughed from the beginging to the end. It really was one of my best birthday presents.

The scones came out later all nice and warm!

I got told off as soon as I walked into the foyer. I had travelled on the tube in flats because my high heels were suede and I didnt want the rain to ruin them. So I bent down to swap my shoes over and as quick as lightning a man came over and told me off and ushered me to the toilet where I could change my shoes. You dont get told off in the Travel lodge for swapping shoes haha! You can obviously take the girl out of Essex but clearly not the Essex out the girl!

We had a sitting at 1.30 and had starved ourselves so we could eat as much as possible obviously! By 1.40 we had polished off nearly all the sandwiches and the cakes! Talk about greedy! We ended up having three lots of sandwiches. What we didnt realise was that you ate the cakes on top last so again the Essex-ness showed through haha!

Quite possibly the best scones I have ever tasted.

The Ritz is such a lavish, ornate and old fashioned venue. There is gold everywhere and it really does feel like you have stepped back in time. It was so nice to have a man playing a grand piano in the background while you ate. I felt like Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman walking in.

The three generations :)

As traditional Essex girls we treked to Marble Arch and spent all out money in Primark! I brought a lovely skirt but now Ive got it home ive realised it was on the wrong hanger! Gutted. I also did a little bit of star spotting and caught a sighting of Frankie from The Saturdays in Selfridges. She was wearing a bit of a boring outfit to be honest, I think as a popstar I expected her to be in hotpants and sequins haha!

Birthday Girl

Today is my 22nd birthday. Saying that make me feel so old, I going to have to start acting like a grown up soon!
I have had a wonderful day and been thoroughly spoilt! Some present highlights have included Afternoon Tea at the Ritz tomorrow, a Barbour handbag and a Mulberry purse that deserves a whole post of its own. It is now my most prized possession and im extremely tempted to sleep with it tonight. My boyfriend really does have a heart of gold.

I went out last night in Shoreditch, had a really nice time. Didnt end up staying out as late as I though, I got the last train home. It saved me a £12 cab journey. I still didnt get until about 1am. I went to an amazing cocktail bar called the Drunken Monkey and me and the boy have vowed to have lunch there soon, spotted an amazing Chinese menu, and spend the day getting drunk on tasty cocktails. Perfect way to spend a Saturday. I sampled Strawberry Beer in a random pub which was nice but slightly weird. All in all it was a perfect way to spend my birthday. I didnt quite feel pretentious enough to fit in though! My friends did however have a sweapstake going on what time I would fall over, my falls while under the influence are infamous. They each put a pound in and chose a half hour slot. I dont know if I should be offended or not haha! I am proud to say I did not fall over once! Ha serves them right!
Excuse the terrible quality of these photos, battery on camera ran out and I had to use an IPhone.

Outfit:

Mine chiffon dress: Primark

Black square toe court shoes: Next

Black tights:Primark

Leopard print collared black coat: Topshop

Quilted clutch Bag: ASOS

Black beaded bracelet: Thomas Sabo gift

My beautiful new coat! I took a picture of the collar because it didnt really show up in the photos! I had been lusted after this coat for far too long, I just could not justify £85 for a coat. Its nearly half my wages! So when I walked into Topshop you can imagine my delight when I spotted it in the sale for £40! I had a £15 voucher to use, Ive decided to get the coat instead of the dress in the post below. The more practical side in my won. I got some birthday money so I can still get the dress. When I used student discount I managed to get it for £21! Bargain! Although one boy that I went out with last night told me I looked like Cruella De Ville in it. Pfffft what does he know haha!

I am now in my new leopard print PJs completely stuffed from eating far too much birthday cake. Im going to have an early-ish night ready for the Ritz tomorrow :)

About your dress

I think ive found my birthday dress. I have to buy a new one because there is nothing suitable in my wardrobe for turning 22 of course. I can't resist adding a new dress to my over growing collection.

I found this beauty whilst trawling the Topshop website. It is a tad pricey at £43 to be honest and it is not that different from my polka one from Primark that I paid a mere £13 or £15 for. But I have a Topshop voucher left over from Christmas so thats £15 off it already. Once ive deducted student disocunt it will be £23.70 if my maths is correct. Not that much more than the Primark version then.

Im really into different shades of brown, Ive exhasted the Camel trend so I think its time for me to venture out into the "Rust" trend. I could pair it with my nude platform and gold sequin bag. I just hope it does not disappoint me in the flesh when I go the Oxford Street branch in a couple of weeks. Im going to have to have blinkers on when I get to London.

On a side note Id just like to say a huge heartfelt thank to everyone that reads or follows my blog! It means such a lot. I know 25 followers isnt a huge amount compared to some but its more than I ever could have imagined! Thanks guys :)

Video killed the radio star

Look what I found in a charity shop! Brand new! It was £25, not a massive saving as they range between £40-£50 in the shops but it was still a bargain in my eyes! Its in such pristine condition, the box is a little battered but this is more than likely where it has been in storage. Its a special Queens Golden Jubilee edition brought out in 2002.
It is so beautiful! It matches my bedroom perfectly. I went to my nearest post office to post off some ebay things and thought Id have a quick mooch in the two charity shops that are near it. I had no intention of buying anything as I am going to see Flashdance at the West End tomorrow and really need to save my pennies. When I spotted it I let out a gasp, literally! I ran out and phoned my mum to ask her if she wanted to buy it for me for my birthday, which is on Sunday. When she agreed I ran back inside to get my grubby mitts on it! She is going to give me the money back
It make me want to dress in 1040's clothes and huddle round it to listen for news on the war. I have no idea where I am going to put it yet! I need to find a plug socket that is not under my bed.

What a feeling!

I am venturing into the West End to see Flashdance tonight. Very exciting, I love the film! I brought it as a birthday present for both my friends. I was a bad friend as it was my friends birthday back in October but I just never got round to buying them. I had a bit of a panic when I realised it ended this month so I was so lucky to get tickets! But due to unfortunate circumstances she could not make it so I ended up going with my other friend and my mum! Nice girlie night out.

This is what i'm wearing:

Outfit:
Dress: Primark
Shoes: Primark
Tights: Primark
Coat: Next
Watch: Toywatch
Ring: Primark
Bag: Charity Shop
Nail Varnish: Totally Teal No7

I think this is my favourite dress. I have worn to death and when my mum came in from work she asked why im pulling this dress out again haha! It was only £15 and everyone always comments on it when I wear it. They never believe it from Primark! I love the vibrant colours and the fact that it can be transfered over the seasons. Tights in the winter and bare legs in the summer. Bit of a Primark outfit today!

Its my birthday on Sunday. Im turning 22 and to be honest not really looking forward to getting older. Id like to stay at 21! Im getting worried that my life is going past far too quickly and i'm not going to fit everything in that I want too. Im going out the night before to Shoreditch as it was my friends birthday on 11th. But i'm not going out for my actual birthday until the 29th January. Im hopefully going to Guilty Pleasures club night at Koko, Camden. Anyone been before? Also if anyone could reconmend any places in Shoreditch, that would be great too!

As my birthday present my mum is taking me to afternoon tea at the Ritz next Monday. You have no idea how excited I am about this! I plan to eat my weight in scones and then some. Im having a mare about what to wear, I keep changing my mind! It will be the poshest place I have ever been. I hope we are allowed to take lots of pictures!

Music Monday- You are my sweatest downfall

Regina Spektor
Photobucket
I first came across Regina in the beginning of my Strokes obsession. I came across a duet that she did with the band and investigated her further. I fell in love with her voice and made it my mission to download everything that I could. For some reason I very rarely listen to female singer and I should make more of a effort to find out about some new ones.

Photobucket

Russian born Miss Spektor draws inspiration from folk, jazz and classical music. Her songs often include literary references, my favourite song Samson is about the herculean figure whose strength is in his hair. He falls in love with a woman named Delilah who betrays him by calling for a servant to shave his hair while he was asleep. Reginas song tells the story through the eyes of Delilah. I have listened to this song on repeat many a time, it is such a beautiful song.
Photobucket

She is what I would refer to as "soothing" music. This means that she is incredibly easy to listen too in the background, it is not too loud nor frantic. She is great to listen to while coursework needs to be done, a bit of background noice that is not too distracting from the task at hand.

I leave you with Samson.

Soap and Glory

Soap and Glory Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths

I adore soap and glory, its my favourite "smellies" brand alongside Lush. I tend to buy Soap and Glory more just because its stocked in my local Boots whereas the nearest Lush is about half an hour car ride away. I love the smells, packaging, quirky names of products and the fact that it actually does make a difference. It does what it says on the tin! I got an insane amount of Soap and Glory products for Christmas and many of them I have never used before so i've decided to do a review of each one. I know its a fashion blog but I honestly love smellies as much as clothes! I can spend hours in the bathroom!

My boyfriends sister brought me this lovely gift set for Christmas with so many goodies inside. Look how massive the big sponge thing is! I was so pleased to open this, she knows me well haha! I love the shape of the wash bag, its just the right size to fit all my toiletries for when I go away.

Along with it came some Soap and Glory Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths that I have been wanting to try for a long time. I haven't yet because as a student they are too expensive for my budget! I cannot wait to splash out certain things once I have a real job!

At the minute I currently use Boots own band of facewipes (pictured below). This is only because I am cheap and they are always on offer. Currently they are three for £3. Ive been using since I was in school so for about 5 years. However I have found recently that they tend to be quite dry (even when first opened) and have began to hurt my eyes when I try to remove stubborn make up. There does not seem to be alot of mositure in the wipes. Im sure the scrubbing is not doing my wrinkles any favours!

First off I really like the fact that the pack has a plastic cover as there is nothing worse then the lid pealing off and the wipes are all dry as result the next time you go to use them! When I opened them up the smell reminded me of toothpaste, it was minty fresh smell. It is a really strong smell. Im not much of a fan of mint but thats just personal choice. I used kids bubblegum flavored toothpaste until was about 18 because I hated the taste haha!

The make up remover test:

I dont wear that much make up during the day. I only use concealer, bronzer and mascara but cake it on when I go out of an evening so im not sure how the wipes work with lots of make up on. But I found when I used the wipes that they were full of moisture and did not feel rough on my skin. They were slightly textured and were a good size. They didnt feel as rough on my eyes as the Boots ones have recently and my eyes did not sting afterwards. They were very good at getting every last scrap of make up off. I really like the fact as well that they have a built in exfoliator so your skin is getting two work outs. Overall I think I would buy them again, I got used to the minty smell and it doesn't bother me anymore. They feel a lot softer on my skin and I think they are well worth the money. Im a convert! On a side note Ive tried out a new nail varnish that I got for Christmas. Totally Teal by No7. Im not too sure, I dont know if it suits me. I love it in the bottle but don't know if its too dark. Im going to leave it on anyway to see if it grows on me. Sorry for the blurry image!
What do you think? Yay or nay?

Music Monday - East London is a vampire

Bloc Party
Photobucket
I adore Bloc Party. They are one of the bands that cemented my love for Indie. I first came across them when they released their single "So here we are" in 2005. I rushed out to HMV and brought Silent Alarm. I was hooked. I loved the lyrics, the melodies and the whole persona of the band.I still dont think any album has ever topped the debut one. Silent Alarm hardly left my CD player in 2005, I even brought Razorlight tickets because Bloc Party were announced as the support. I was devastated when they pulled out. I didnt end up seeing the band until 2008 when they played at Reading. Ive seen them twice since and Kele on his own once.

Photobucket

I am a music snob, I admit it. I hate it with a passion when my favourite bands get well known. I know its great for the band finally being recognised for all their hard work. But it breaks my heart when Chavs start listening to them, as what has happened with Kings Of Leon. They only become known for their one hit song and people fail to listen to all their pervious material. Anyway that is a rant for another day.
Photobucket

Bloc Party are hugely successful but they are only really well known in their area of music. Ask a random on the street and the chances are they will never have heard of the band. I think this is why my love affair has continued for so long. They continued to make quality music year after year until they took a break. I can honestly say that there is not one song that I dislike on any of their albums.

I leave you with Banquet, an awesome song from Silent Alarm.
